I'm sure you guys all saw it, but over on the food service rant thread were having a discussion about LTL Trucking in the 1990s and are talking about the most famous day cab of the 1990s which is the Ford Aeromax L9000 if any of you have anything to add it would be greatly appreciated.

I drove a '93 L9000 four axle dump, (with trailer,) for Western Rock here in Dixie for a few months. And a few months was really all I could take of that type of work. This was back in '97 or '98.

Well, yesterday we had another driver get hurt, in fact very nearly killed.

He was unloading what I believe was a gazebo kit at a house. This was a large crate somewhere in the 2100 lb neighborhood. The crate fell off the liftgate landing on top of him, breaking both legs and shattering 3 vertebra in his neck.

The scuttlebutt is they made him come back to work too soon after being out 2 months previously recovering from a broken ankle.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Sheesh, sounds like this fella needs to find another line of work before he kills himself!
Actually, it'll be surprising if he is ever able to work again.:(
    Poor bastid!

Congrats on becoming a responsible homeowner. Enjoy the pleasures that come with, such as the water heater going out the same week as the furnace, then finding out your central air unit is old enough that it's not compatible with any furnaces in the current market so it has to be replaced as well...

How did that happen? Was he pulling it off? This is my worse fear. These huge skids and crates that are bigger then the lift gate. I have no idea how to handle these.
