Well, I am catching somewhat of a break weatherwise. Emptying out in McDonough GA, reloading tomorrow in Villa Rica headed for Grand Prairie again. It keeps me out of the smutz, gives me some miles, and gets me a restart to boot. And it's warm down here..."No Jacket Required"

This Jamestown, ND to Newnan, GA load is probably my favorite load now. There's some nice highway driving and the weather got better and better the further I went. It was below zero in Jamestown and I delivered today in 70+ degree awesomeness.
But there was a very not fun moment...
The first night I stayed at a Pilot in MN.... I think the first one going East from Minneapolis. This is not a place I like to stay. It's almost always full when I go through there. It's the one where you have to go through 2 roundabouts and then drive past the fuel island and through the parking lot to get fuel, hopefully there is nobody in front of you trying to park. Anyway, I parked in one of the first few available spots by the fuel island facing the fence. Luckily there were 3 open spots open and easy for me to park. There is snow plowed up to the fence, making it tight. I woke up in the morning and someone was parked along the fence and I had to ask him to move. But now there are trucks to my left and right, and along with the snow bank being there, I couldn't get out. So I had to wake up one of the drivers next to me. One was a 53' and the other had a 48'. I woke up the driver with the shorter trailer and just had him scoot his nose over a little so I was able to get out... but one of my trailer brakes was frozen. I didn't notice on my first few attempts to get out. So I now have to explain to the driver whom I just woke up and was properly parked in a legit spot that he'd have to wait for me to fix that. He just left his truck where it was and went back to sleep. I was able to get out. He was nice about it. I know I'd rather be woken up than get hit.
Despite that early morning event the drive went well. -
Gonna be a chilly one in Fargo tonight....
This is at 1840
Gonna be -27.... and already feels like -28 -
I never pull in there anymore... I'd rather stay at the Wisconsin Scales right there then there. If you need fuel that bad you shoulda stopped at Coon Rapids....
I really like the Kwik Trip at exit 45
#### that place.... it's always a mess... plan around stopping thereLast edited: Jan 12, 2017

And @Zata40, didn't your trainer teach you not to set your trailer brakes in the winter? Heck, I even cooled the trailer I dropped in CR the other day so that the driver that delivered the load the next day wouldn't have any issues.ncmickey Thanks this. -
And yea... don't set those trailer brakes... I was laying under a trailer last week at -15 in Grand Forks trying to get some brakes to release... NEVER fun!!Crusader66 and supersnackbar Thank this.
