When you own the truck you have the right. Do you think a driver would drive down the road watching movies or worse if they knew if they had an event to trigger the camera. I think not. JimmyWells you do have a choice. If Mom told you not to take a cookie then left the room what is the temptation? If Mom stays in the room I'm betting you don't touch the cookies. Just sayin'!

Some of us don't need a mama to watch over us to make sure we don't do the wrong thing....

I do own my truck and even if you were to put a driver in it I still wouldn't install a driver facing camera. If my insurance company insisted I would drop them and move to another provider. You think you're the perfect driver but I have news for you. No matter how well you think you're doing a decent legal team will pick apart your every move and use it against you.

A poster in another thread maintains that both Werner and Marten Transport do not have the dreaded driver facing cameras but I believe that they actually do. Posted earlier that they do, so some conflicting information floating around FYI..

Try owning 500 to 1500 with all your life savings and personal guarantees tied up in your business like so many of these owners do.....would you still think that way? Big picture.

Big picture is... If you are hiring drivers that you believe are immature and irresponsible then you don't belong in this industry.

I do have my life savings wrapped up in my business The amount of trucks doesn't matter as the basic principles are the same. You're the one missing the big picture here. Cameras, ELDs, speed limiters, etc etc are in lockstep with the gradual takeover of the transportation industry.

I implore you to take some time and learn about Marxism. Trotsky called his theory (which runs in concert with Marx's Ten Planks), "The Long March Through The Institutions". It's a slow methodical government takeover of an entire nation to the State. Instead of Lenin's way of violent bloody revolutionary takeover like how he started the Soviet Union they're doing things in a much more insidious manner now.

I watched a man I once worked for tell another driver that if he has to start telling drivers how to do a logbook, then he needs new drivers.

The amount of trucks does matter! Is it easier to hire one good driver or1500. Just the odds my man. Big picture.
