    I showed them pictures of my burnt house and said I'm not totally a "local" in that sense (not that being local should matter).
    They didn't care and still refused my business.
    At that point most hotels were sold out being it was Saturday night.

    Just claim they discriminate again Bi-residential people..

    Hmmm, hope the folks at the other end of the state are friendlier. Am moving to Clarksville Tn.

    I think you'd have an easy win as is. They accepted the reservation without checking if you conformed to policy. Once the transaction starts grounds to sue start. Only problem is it would cost you more in time (not to mention money) than you win in small claims.

    Unfortunately most of the websites have listed somewhere in the reservation process that they have "the right to cancel the reservation without notice at anytime...yada yada yada"

    And of course you can't see their terms and conditions until you get into the "Booking Process" which probably means right before you pay.
