So far, what I have learned. They do not charge you for the hotel - it does not come out of your pay (unless you do not complete school, or quit with Millis before a year is up). This is what our class was told. I am commuting since I do not live very far from the terminal. However, on our lunch break, the other students needed to stop by their rooms and I got to see the place they were staying. It is a decent place - not a dump at all. They are also providing one meal a day (lunch). Today we each got a $10 card for subway. I do not know if this a permanent, or new change, but it was a nice surprise.
Our instructor, Steve, is a very nice man and is thorough. He makes 100% sure that you know exactly what you are committing to - catches someone misunderstanding something, and helps you through it. Also, come to class prepared. Millis sends you a list of things you need to have for class. Its the 2nd day, and just some advice ... when the instructor tells you to do your homework ... do it.
There is a lot I still need to learn (route planning is one of them). I have the Motor Carrier Rand McNally laminated book, but when one section of State is zoomed in and cut off from the other section of the Same State, its kind of hard to catch my bearings and connect the highways (if that makes any sense). -
zany_steverino Thanks this.

As a general rule with most transport companies as the old saying goes " Same deal just a different colored hood" why do some drivers say a companies great while another says its poor? Its abit like cars ain't it? Some love Fords some GM and some Toyota these days all cars are quality built, however on occasion you get the odd lemon, with transport we get dispatchers who are just so wonderful and then occasionally we'll get a real "lemon" while there are some really bad transport companies out there and they will pay the price eventually cause in the end no one will work for them and they'll go broke by and by most companies are decent and some times it just comes down to driver attitude.

Just one more thing - the homework assignments are for your benefit. They are not just so you will have "busy work". You will really need to know this material - it really is something you will use in "real life".
