So...Is KryOn still with Pride? I'm moving out west and may be considering Pride...
-
EatYourVeggies Thanks this.
-
I took a local IT job, so I am back working with computers.
I do miss driving though... -
Best of luck to you man!
Atleast it's something you can always fall back on...
Take care -
.. just spent a few hrs going through all your posts & enjoyed reading them but was a bit surprised you just fell out of the forum without any explanation why you left .. maybe when you feel like giving us the details why you left PRIDE a lot of us would appreciate hearing the downside of what made you decide to leave a company you seemed to enjoy working for.
Crusader66 Thanks this. -
are they currently using the driver-facing cameras?
-
I like the idea of forward facing camera's. Driver facing camera's are an invasion of privacy.
All my friends say I picked a great time to retire as the bull$hit is getting deep.DTP and EatYourVeggies Thank this. -
The drivers call Steve, the head recruiter, "The Used Car Salesman." That should tell you plenty.
I don't miss him.
Nepotism thicker than manure in a pig sty.
I don't miss that.
Driver-facing cameras...? In another thread here, someone told me they got rid of it.

Even if they did, they can always throw a pizza party and say, "Oh, btw, we've decided to reinstall the driver-facing cameras. For your protection, driver, because we here at Pride care so much about your safety."
The above scenario, based on my experience there, is NOT beneath them.
And the line about $100 layover on produce loads? That's a laugh. It's ultimately at your dm's discretion. If you're pals with him or he's in a good mood, then sure. Otherwise, it may or may not happen.
The night-shift shop managers are very cool guys when I was there (one was older and tall and the other was in his 30's and medium height).
As for the day-shift shop managers, there were two when I was there. The fat turd with dark hair is condescending and always has to get in the last word. Even when he's wrong. Especially when he's wrong. The tall one with the beard is hit or miss. Some days he's okay; other days he's just another A Hole. They both know they have their jobs locked in for life so they know they're untouchable.
They also pay zip to zip. So much for respecting the drivers. Drive for Pride and I promise you'll be doing free work.
And I don't know if they still do mandatory per diem but that's a choice the driver should be able to make. When I grilled Steve (the used car salesman) about it, he had no answer.
For those who come from CR England (the owner of Pride is related to the owner there), Central, CRST, Swift (like the OP), or any other bottom feeder scab outfits, sure Pride is going to look like heaven.
It's called the priming effect. Let's say you're kicked in the nads and spat on the face every morning. If, one day, you're just spat on the face, you're going to think life is pretty sweet.
For those who have the years and the clean record, look elsewhere. I walked into that place a 0/0 driver and walked out a 0/0 driver. I may not have shiny automatic and dish tv but I'm a helluva alot happier where I am now.
The only regret I have is not bailing during orientation like several other guys did. And why did they bail? Their instincts told them what I found out the hard way.
Pride? Shame is what I call them every time I pass one.Last edited: Mar 19, 2017

Or he may not want to burn bridges. He may need Pride for future job references. And he provided enough details about his time there so it won't be difficult for them to deduce who he is.
Yes, like almost all carriers, they monitor various internet sites. And they can be petty and vindictive.
