All I know for 100% sure (about the hotel) is they pair you up with a roommate. If you want your own room, you have to pay for it yourself. One other student in class opted out of staying at the hotel because he thought he would have to pay for it through deductions in payroll. He is the one that told me that he found out you were not charged. I will double check on this tomorrow. I want to make sure the info is accurate. I do personally know that we are getting one meal a day provided by Millis (lunch).

I mentioned in a previous post that I I would post the new pay scales that were emailed to me by Millis when I returned home and could access my computer. This web site will not allow the file to be uploaded via the upload file option and when I cut and pasted the open file it did not display in a readable way.
I will post a very brief summary here. I suggest anyone who wants to get a copy of the pay scale contact Millis directly.

Ok - the information was correct. It was verified by both students staying at the hotel.
An update - I really like my instructor. I respect him as a person too. He has my 100% confidence that what he is telling me is accurate.
I am nervous as hell though. I have never shifted a tractor trailer before, and he let us bobtail around the terminal this past Wednesday. He jumped all over each and every one of us when we started, which increased my nervousness exponentially. I went from forgetting to double clutch, to getting the hang of it. I finally figured out how to down shift - but it took a while. At the end of the day, he said we all did great, and he didn't expect us to pick it up right away (its a learning process, we aren't born walking, we have to learn) I have driven 5 speed manual transmissions before, but this is completely different and will take some getting used to. So .... he did say if a Millis driver is in the Terminal this weekend, and is willing to let me use their truck for additional practice, I can. I don't expect anyone to rush forward and offer to do this though ... lol. He also said he is going to allow us to come in over the weekend to practice the pre-trip inspection on the trainer trucks.FalconsFan21 Thanks this. -
Sounds good so far, I wouldn't worry to much, like he said, it's a learning curve, and since it's all new you are probably hyper-nervous about it, it will pass shortly.
I've often wondered if people that don't know how to drive stick shift in any way have some advantage over those that do know how when it comes time to learn how to shift double clutching.zany_steverino Thanks this.
