My S7 made me clear cookies before I could login. Hard to work with it on phone. On my computer it's not bad just bugs I vote we fire the drivers that tested this before they sent it to us lol

 

Tho be honest though, it helps me to build a foundation of understanding about my future goals so it is worth it. Besides, it is no more than the time and effort you guys have all put into helping everyone out. Thank you for that.

 

Don't tell Moglar. But I bet those drivers that are already dispatched know the "secret handshake"

 

When you guys bought a home, did you not take all of your deductions to get your income higher? So, that you can could get approved for more of a house.

 

You will always have those of us that know what the real world is doing. And those of us (like me LOL) that think every load should pay over 2.

 

I'd be happy with everything $2 a nioe... I messed up. Took a load coming out of where I delivered.. puts me in an area with $1.30 with 46,000 lbs loads... lol

 

There is a reason why banks go by AGI for a mortgage, it's to make sure you can afford it. If you want to get approved for more of a house, either put more money down, get a lower rate, or increase your income. Why would you want to pay more taxes by leaving deductions off? The only deduction that isn't a hard deduction is the DOT deduction, so that means you'd be lying to yourself about what you can afford.

 

My lender added depreciation back in, myself, I claimed fewer days out on the road for a couple years before I bought the house.

The point was not to get as much house as I could. The point was to make the process as painless as possible and get the best rate as possible.

 

The sad thing is in the 70's none of us pulling tankers would think of taking a load for $2/mi. I still have all my records and my average was $2.26/mi for all miles travelled. We would run from NJ to out west and come back empty 95% of the time. There was no such thing as a backhaul rate. A load going a couple miles paid $700 and detention was $100/hr. I was content to work 4 months a year and gross 126K average. Thats the only part of "old school" that I miss. Now we act as if getting $2/mi is the holy grail of owner operatorship.

 

Many have said that rates are worse than 30-40 years ago. Your example is a great one. In my opinion we just have to many trucking companies now. Well we have Megas. If I owned 5000 trucks I could afford to make $50 a day off each truck. When you own 1 truck and need to make $500 or so a day...... we see who has the advantage.
