    Hey all...
Just curious if anyone knows if this kind of technology exists?

You know those Dock Door Stop Go signals mounted near the Dock doors....Is there a device that could be aimed at the signal that would recognize a color change and alert you if the light switch from Red to Green or vice versa? Or just recognized when the Red light was no longer lit? Or perhaps just recognized a color change period; etc

I thought of the idea when I would affix a small mirror inside my truck that would reflect the Dock Signal color from my side mirror to my sleeper area so I wouldn't have to keep standing up to look.....

Any thoughts? Or knowledge of that kind of technology?

I don't know if it exists but it sounds like one heck of an idea. Maybe even add a little audible "alarm" in case you happen to be napping :D

Yep. To alert me so I can nap was what I was looking for...zzzzzzx

That would be sweet. If anyone wants to pursue the idea or invention. Go right ahead... lol All I ask is to just re-invest some of your profits into other ideas to help the actual Driver and not the insurance companies with their annoying beeping safety gadgetry....

It could be done fairly easily with an optical sensor, hooked to a PLC, and a buzzer. Very simple program to run it, actually. One input, three outputs, and a subprogram. Red light, green light, buzzer, timer.

Unfortunately, this wouldn't work too well for those of us that pull liftgate trailers.

Just wait for the forklift to quit bouncing the trailer,,, give it 20 min then look.

You can dock a lift gate. Just have to lower it, without extending it.
