Some business-minded drivers (myself included) want trucks with resale value. It's called "good planning". Those plastic junkers are worth squat after a 7 year lease and a million miles. A W900L or a 379/389 will retain more than a quarter of its value after 10 years and unlimited miles because people love and collect them. Noone loves or collects Columbias or VNLs lol

Wrong, a new w900 or 379 do not hold their value. Nobody wants to deal with new truck problems. Its probably the reason why a 2003 379 in good shape is more money then a 2015 379.

Lol I've been checking out new and used trucks and have yet to come across a $160,000 2003 anything.

Lol well if you look at a 2013-2015 they are cheap. My point was, the new ones don't hold their value. Which is a fact. Look at a '03 in good shape then look at a '13-'15 less miles then the '03 and the price for the older truck is very competitive with a new one. If i had 160k i sure as hell wouldn't be buying anything with def

Edit: 389* (forgot they don't make 379 anymore)

2003 was pre acert Cats....The Acerts were trash, most folks try to stay away from em...

Thats the reason you're seeing Pre-2004 Petes so pricey

And technically them Petes do still hold their value, case n point, look at how much TMC sells them 10 year old Petes for with close to A million miles EVEN with the Acerts, and for the most part they still look good. Someone show me that with an Schneider old Pumpkin or an Old Red Roehl truck....

Tmc over values their trucks too, and most of their trucks with over a million have had an in frame done round 750k. But unless the trans goes out our had a failure, they don't touch them, and those trucks are beat to ####

My Acert had 906k on it when I left the company. All depends on the driver and maintenance. We had one guy go through 1 head, 2 turbos and three manifolds in one truck then a head in another truck.
