New from the factory Volvo's do not have greasable u-joints. My buddy had an 2007 VNL780 and it had no grease fittings on the u-joints.

Don't worry about the deadhead, I DH 4-500 miles w/o blinking, back to the direct customer. I won't burn time looking. @BoyWander

And that's nice if you have a direct customer. I don't. Would be nice to fall into that situation, not necessarily for the revenue, but for stability and being able to try and get myself into a triangle route situation that works for it so I can get back to my customer the next week.

I got lucky and got the truck I wanted for cheap. I figure that I will need some work, but if I can work it while fixing it, I can have real nice one for under $20,000. The transmission howls in od, so I might be able to get by rebuilding the splitter instead of Trans. The clutch looked to last for a while, but the throw out went, so as long as the trans comes down, a clutch goes in.

As far as the bickering back and forth about cheap freight, sometimes it pays to take it, sometimes it doesn't. A friend of mine took a load from NJ, where he lives to Alabama, where his customer is. The load took 8 hours to deliver, and paid around a buck a mile. Normally it would have paid, but for the day he lost, it didn't. How was he supposed to know?

Don't forget the siphon hose to fill those fuel filters before spinning them on.
