There are some serious serious grades in Quebec that are unavoidable. I am talking 18% plus. Heads up.There are also a few points you don't see a house a town or a gas pump for 500 km or so. I've only been up that way in a personal vehicle. My wife is from Labrador. Good times.

Methyl hydrate(the red jug) is nicer and works better in my opinion then that safe t brake junk.
Nice ride up that way. You'll appreciate running the big roads a little more lol -
Hi guys,
Thought I'd give an update on the trip. Things I've done to prepare:
- Have anti freeze for minus 70, considering the high is -20 and -30 for low, as you know it's wind chill that causes issues in the front
- New winter front
- New air drier cartridge - reman 84, 42 core xcge vs 158 new
- Air line anti freeze as backup
- Belt and pullies, tensioner almost new, and brand new water pump.
- Brought my winter hunting gear, 2@ -20 bags, insulated bibs, long underwear, fire starters, lighters, hatchet, Sorel's, gloves and 50 hand warmers, 2 flashlights, battery lantern, and my 3 foot spade shovel strapped to the top deck of the TRL
- Changed an oil sensor and it didn't solve the idle low pressure CHK engine shut down so getting the o rings on the pickup tubes changed... ## me... Freighliner said about 710 yesterday, came back with 1338 today. OYyyyy
- Wednesday is snow up there , 5-8, so I will leave when the truck is fixed hopefully Fri; for next week Tues, Wed lots of snow around Quebec City and Baie-Comeau
My company says omnitracs is CDMA for comm, so that's out I'm sure once I get into the boonies. Checking on SAT access ... Also checking on fuel stops. Need to do currency exchange too.
Only thing bothering me is lots of snow ( with a low trailer ) on partial ice covered roads for areas of 2-300 kms. Especially coming back empty...lol.
Tally-ho!

Can't forget new wiper blades and fluid tubes...

If it is -20 and with wind chill it's-35 ....your truck only will "feel" -20 ... wind chill only refers to how quickly heat will be lost..... your truck doesn't feel it dude..
