I cannot answer your questions about company drivers, your best bet to get them would be call recruiting. They are really nice folks, and will give you the straight answers. In fact they all are great people there. If you choose to go there I am sure you will not be disappointed. Two things you do not have to worry about are New York city and California. Most of the DC's are out in BFE, so you don't have to worry about city driving

 

LMB, are you still rolling with Watkins? Just curious as I got a call from them about the Lease Purchase program and was wondering what they pay the Lease Operator's. Is it percentage or mileage pay. Also what happens if there is little to no work available? Are you still obligated for the truck payment and other weekly expenses? What if you have a breakdown that will keep your truck down for more than a week are you still on the hook for the payments and expenses? Any feedback you have would be great. BTW, congratulations on paying off your truck.

 

It not Watkins anymore, they went back to Sunco. My truck went in to the shop for 6 weeks and they cancelled my contract. That's all I am going to say

 

Cameras in tractors facing driver,lane searching device that sends alarm if you drift and radar device in bumper that sends warning if you tailgate.Ryder tractors are new and Watkins trailers are fairly new.I'm a new company driver so I'll keep you updated as I learn the system.So far not to bad,got back to back loads totaling1800 miles.Orientation pays $16 an hour for 16 hours over 2 days in Lakeland,Florida.10 paid holidays, 1 week vacation after 6 months.2 weeks vacation after 1 year.

 

Are you based out of Lakeland? If so, what areas do they have you running in?

 

Are you an O/O or Company driver? Just curious about the percentage pay vs the mileage pay. I was told 68% plus 3% bonus if you have no accidents, incidents, citations, etc, are on time 98% of the time and don't refuse any dispatches. I was also told that they put Qualcomm in the O/O trucks and charge $12/week for that and was wondering if that Qualcomm has a driver facing camera as well. I just don't see how you could make money there on the mileage pay program unless your truck is paid off. I'm just wondering if anyone has an example of what there getting or making if there running percentage at 68%.
