Sound like I-Pass is the cheapest to start. Don't know if bypassing the scales is worth so much upfront money or not. I'll have to think on it. Thanks for input

IMO these people ain't doin this stuff for free! If you are dealing with anyone other than State Pike Commission you are paying more, no? Discounts from pike direct are 40%. Discounts from all of these ones you guys are talking about say up to 20%. They are making money off of you, no?

Seems like it. I know they have to make a profit to stay in business, but I'm not sure if the price is worth the reward. Toll wise alone, I-Pass seems to be ok. But $425-$500 just to start to bypass scales, which a lot of times when I go by are closed anyway, plus I run a lot of 2-lanes so.....well anyway, I'll call them all soon and see

Ipass is for toll roads not scales. Pre pass is like $15 a month a think forgot what I pay for it. Ez pass is also for tolls but it is a lot more expensive to start up then I pass and dose the same thing.

I recently got Bestpass, only toll road I've been on since getting it was I44 in OK Will Rogers turnpike.
Normally for cash it costs $16.50.
My cost using Bestpass was $15.70.
With Bestpass you buy the transponders from them ( 2 ) if I remember correctly they were $75.00 but they are yours. You must keep a minimum of $350.00 In your account, You set it up using a credit card.
Think the coverage is for 95% of the tolls in US.

My NY EZpass costs me 50 cents a month for a fee plus tolls. I only get discounts in NY, the initial deposit for tolls was 250, but now it recharges when it gets down to about $15 it adds $50 from the credit card on file.

I don't get it...ditch the third party and get half off or close! You get a dollar off!? I can't help but think of the old man with the fishing pole in the insurance commercial!

Am I wrong here....isn't anyone other than a States turnpike commission just a flippin toll factoring?

I don't hit the toll roads often enough to leave 350.00 worth of my hardwork in their bank. I'm glad it works for others. I used to think what a pain in the ### it would be to stop at the scales all the time when I had pre-pass, but seriously, most of them are closed when I go by. If I had to go through Banning on a regular basis I would probably re-evaluate.

That one deserves to be "prepassed" with or without the prepass.
