Random rest area in CA on the 40 before you hit AZ. Ran almost 500 miles. I've been good keeping the 8.75 game going. The loads have allowed me to do it, so I'm giving infinite recap another shot.

Home on time, might want to buy a lottery ticket.

    Hudson, CO at Love's.

Nothing too bad snow wise aside from some freezing rain between Ogallala and I-76.
It had just started snowing a few flurries when I got to my first stop, but the roads have stayed clear. It might be a different story in the morning if the roads between here and Denver ice up.

Apparently Wyoming is now a giant white postage stamp, but that's to be expected.

I'm in Milan/Grants NM at the Petro. Nothing exciting just drive.

But I've had further developments with possibly getting on the recovery team. The driver I ran into told his dispatcher I was interested, and asked him if it'd be cool that I team with him. So he gave me Todd's #. And he needed my driver code and truck #. Should get back to me tomorrow I hope. If he gives the all clear I'll be in. Didn't say anything else, I don't even know what they require.

    So I await the judgement.

First time you recover a wreck with brain gray matter splatter and driver parts that couldn't be extracted with a sponge you might rethink that plan. Its a soul killing ugliness doing that kind of work.

I was a the jurupa valley terminal and got talking to a drivèr i see there l the time. They assigned him a truck that was suppose to been cleaned inside and put. Swift had recovèred the truck off i 10 so.ewhere in the desert whère the a driver had passed. He said the smell was pretty bad still. He said he was spending the day there and spraying bleach throughout the truck and turning the heat way up. I didnt see him again since i quit to know if it worked

Denver, CO at the TA East.

A few flurries this morning as I was being unloaded but nothing worse.

This was my home time load, but at around 0230 this morning I got a pplan.
Pick up at the terminal and deliver at Safeway at 1130, a live unload.
I turned it down, of course. Doubly so it being a Safeway load. I hate that place.

After I sent my e-call I called my DM to set my PTA to 02/27. It wasn't long before I got another pplan that picked up on the 25th.
Turned that one down, then got another one with no appointment times for either pick up or delivery.

What are these planners smoking, or whatever?
It seems really good at killing brain cells.

The thoght had occured to me. The worst part for me is the smell though, if there's anything giving off an odor I'm real sensative to that.

Todd's off next week and he left for the day. So it'll be another week before I find out.

Some where between Amarillo and Garland TX.

So, now I'm going to Tcall this load in Lancaster. Wait till Monday. To deliver another load first, plus this one in Garland. Then pick up another load in North lake Tuesday and run as fast as I can home.

Apparently I'll get local rates for both loads, don't even know what local rates pay for flatbed. And 500 miles to sit all day sunday. Even getting paid decently for doing nothing, I'd still rather be doing something. Oh well I guess I'll annoy you guys while I'm at it.

Whatever your planners are doing, I'll take two.

I used to be a volunteer fire fighter and medical first responder with the fire department. We covered a large portion of I-30 in our district along with many miles of state and county roads. Some of the things I've seen, touched, and smelled are permanently etched in my mind. Once you have smelled brain fluid, you never forget it.

I purposely will not look at an accident scene now, while it is being worked by police, fire, and EMS. I don't want to bring back horrific memories. However, if I happen upon a scene prior to first responder arrival, I am able to revert back to my past training and lend a hand where I can. It's happened twice in 11 years, both were relatively minor though.

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.

I had a nice day with my girls, most of them. Luana couldn't make it because she was working.
We went to Boondocks, but a new one.

There is now a Boondocks in Parker, CO, and it is nicer than the older one on I-25.
A better restaurant for sure, and everything is new and sparkling. More parking.
The best thing was the race track. It is very smooth and slick, so you slide around a lot. I mean a LOT! You really have to control the throttle with this track or you just go spinning. There was a lot of that.
I've also been to the one near Salt Lake City, but no other track compares to the new one in Parker.
Every lap there were several cars that I had to dodge, sometimes several in the same turn.

But I couldn't do more than 1 race before going back inside.
30 degrees, and my fingers were frozen.

    FerrissWheel and SHOJim Thank this.
