Hang in there. When you find yourself sitting search the board. Not only for where you are but also do searches by state. This will help you learn the lanes. The good and bad areas. Try to find a triangle to work in. It can be hard to go from say.... Chicago to Memphis and back. But maybe Chicago to Memphis to Tulsa and back to Chicago will work better. (I'm just making up cities here. I don't know van lanes). Don't be afraid to sit. People run for cheap all the time because they feel the wheels have to be turning. By searching different areas all the time you will have a better idea of what a fair rate for an area is. This may save you from taking $1.5 load when the average is $1.7. Remember coordinators have certain loads they have to call you about. Dont be afraid to say no. There is no penalty.
