Here is what I have found. Know your home state conceal carry permit laws. Any states on your permit, that allow reciprocity, on your home conceal carry permit; will honor you carrying your firearm - concealed.

Any states not on there are the states you need to go into 'transport mode' with your firearm. No you do not need to hide it in the side box, dog box, trailer, or even under your hood. Simply have the firearm unchambered and locked in a gun case, and the ammunition locked in separate case. In the no no states - leave it locked in your vehicle when you exit, but also keep in mind you are responsible for your firearm. Even if it gets stolen.

Companies like to ban them for their liability. The care about being sued more than your life. The way I see it is - I will be disqualified/fired alive, than for my wife to bury me while me firearm is at home.

Yea. He could have prevented half the stuff by not pulling the gun at all. In fact Maryland requires it's own May issue License and does not honor anyone else's at all. This fella is more than a dummy in a number of ways.

He got himself involved in a arguement in the beginning. That is opposite behavior of a gun carrier who usually becomes a shadow and vanishes like a ghost of someone's overactive imagination on the first hint of trouble. Because he or she knows that it's not worth going towards something that is just yelling and screaming. We are not policemen.

Looks like NH just went to CC, as is ME & VT. This site is a good source of info for those who look to carry from state to state.

Too bad they are landlocked by commie states. It's a case of, "you can't get there from here."

Arkansas actually introduced a bill that will make a absolute defined CC. But for right now you are allowed to open carry without a permit provided you do not have intent to hurt anyone. Police go crazy with MAG calls. Act 746 I think. But it's not true CC.

What is needed is 50 state reciprocity from a CC license issued from your home/base state, with set standard guidelines if you must. Most people have no problems with a background check being done before issuance.

The problem is the socialist run states stubborn refusal to acknowledge the 2nd A as an individual right. Additionally, most of the those states have a one party system (socialist) to ensure that view is kept. An individual right that has already been confirmed by the SCOTUS. You see in their mind no one should have access to firearms except mil & police. The problem with that logic is that it does nothing to deter criminals from having them and keeps law abiding truck driving folks defenseless. Personally, I don't carry on the road, never felt the need too and don't need the hassle, but I'll stand up and defend your right to do so.

In a way, it's similar to when certain states steadfastly refused to lift the 55 speed limit. Of course they did it, after the feds threatened to withhold their state funding. Maybe that'll force 2nd A compliance as well, but not likely as this current administration recognizes "states rights", so not likely to happen. The best advice is to thoroughly learn which are bad states and which are 2nd A friendly states and comply accordingly when traveling....

Yeah not worth the risk if you travel all over. If you have a set route that takes you only to certain states that recognize your issuing state's CCW and your company allows it, fine. Otherwise no way. You end up with a felony weapons charge on your criminal record you might as well move to South America and take up mango picking as a paid occupation.
