There is nothing better then finding out at 14:00 on a Friday I need to run all weekend. Since I'm the only guy trained and has the requirement to unload the product, it's bonus money time.

Picking up at SAPA in Spanish fork Utah. Spent caustic. Wasted 4 unpaid hours at a tankwash, now get to spend whatever time here. Already been an hour and my axle gauge has hardly moved. Got so po'd about the unpaid tankwashes and the absolute horrible dispatching that I told them Im done. Screw them and their .40 cpm bs. My dispatcher actially drove down to the tankwash because he thought I was quiting right then.
We have qualcomms in every single truck, but they wont turn them on. This guy could know instantly how many hours I have availble, how many Ive run. Where Im at, what Im doing. But no.
So instead I jave to explain how the truck cant do 5000 miles in a week. Or how tankwashes take more than 20 minutes. Or how I cant Unload, tankwash, reload and still fit in 400 miles in a single day.
    So absolutely done with this

Easy there. Spanish Fork is a challenge on it's highway.

.40 cpm is hardly screwing,It;s respectable pay.

As a side note to anyone and everyone in the Industry how abou tpaying the drivers 1.00 per mile in company work, regardless of service length. One pay. Nationally under one Class A CD. Any state, any work. No more gripe, whine, quit, fire and other general problems. All of that will stop. Everyone equal even the rankest trainee who got his or her CDL yesterday all the way past me with 30 years into those approaching retirement righteously earned.

Teams. 1.00 per driver flat. You wonder why carriers want team. You can pay a truck 1.00. And cut the pay in half to .50 per driver. You can run 7000 miles in 6d dayes 3500 gross at .50 while the load paid two cross country trips at around 15K gross revenue if not approaching 20K.

Alaska loads via Trans Canada Highway usually get into the 30's to haul.

If your company wont do QC's then he or she is deliberately hurting you personally. If you cannot type or use QC, My bet is that the system in the truck might be seriously active for tracking purposes to monitor your driv8ing an location etc. In normal use the QC's abilities do not bother me what so ever, as a deaf trucker it has essentially removed all but the most important priority phone calls to command.

If you have a non trucking, non tanking dispatcher who refuses to accept that you cannot do certain things and still make 400 miles in a day.

Find another dispatcher who has been there done that in the tanker truck in your usual work.

If the company has no dispatcher with actual tanking and trucking experience they I call "All Hat and No Cattle." You would be absolutely justified in GTFO and quit to move on. It's a shame you have to do it, if i was a company I would have hired you by now. You show spirit and motivation. That is good.

    Hang in there.

Hes our only tanker dispatcher. We have a dry bulk and a fill in guy, but my guy is it for us.
40 is the lowest Ive seen here. My previous company was .49. I honestly misunderstood when I got hired on, I thought the .40 was a probationary wage. and they told me that while they didnt pay for tank washes, they paid detention after an hour, which was false.
I will definitely give a proper notice. They are nice, but the most frustrating people to deal with in my 14 year career.
Ive been using them as a way to get exposure to other plants. Id like to go with a private company again. I found one in florida,,,,,but Im not sure if I want to live in florida.

There is a metric ton of driving jobs here, but the majority all pay the same. Our cost of living has gone up and is still going up because of a tech and construction boom, but wahes have been stagnant fpr a decade. The only difference is the color of the truck. Tanker outfits are limited. There are alot of oilfield gigs here, but they dint pay like north dakota or. Texas. Our fuel industry has a ton of turnover.
Brenntag was hiring, but they layoff alot. I dont like Univar, they pulled some really nasty crap when thwy came to the plant I worked for. Airgas hires sporadically, but I dont know anyone that has worked for them and their drivers dont have CBs.
Praxair lays off all the time as well.

Ive calmed down. Ill just keep building my resume and do my best to be their number one driver as I have been since day one. My work ethic demands it and I honestly love my work, but ill seriously start researching other places, maybe even as a nondriving job.

Im just done with working for free. If I working with hazmat and dealing with tankers and the risks and dangers that go with such, I should be making more than I was hauling a dryvan for Schneider.
