He probably means those nerds from California that move to Washington.
When I lived in Tennessee, a family from Seattle moved near where I was living. They didn't stay long and moved back to Seattle. They said they just can't live around a bunch of backward hillbillies. I didn't meet any of the family, but know some school teachers that had the unfortunate pleasure of trying to get along and welcome them.
"Hillbillies are often distinguished as hicks, mountain men, rednecks, white trash, yokels, and pedophiles."
That family just couldn't understand why no one could understand why the local hillbilly families wouldn't conform to, "we did it this way in Seattle and you should too."

My experience with Washingtonians is that they are the most accepting and warm people I've met in a whole lot of states I've lived in. I speak as one of Hispanic descent who has never encountered ANY problems of racism or elitism in Washington. I wish I could say the same for other parts of the country I have visited and/or resided in.Toomanybikes, tlalokay, nax and 1 other person Thank this. -

So back to the original comment...And again, If it is so great where you come from, Then why do you move away? What made you want to move away? What attracted you to the new area in the first place? Perhaps leave the area alone and let them stay the way THEY have grown, not the way you did it back home. Check the attitudes at the state lines. Often refered to ASSIMILATE to your surroundings. (Ever heard the phrase, When in Rome...?) Maybe.... If you would like to yammer about the pro's and con's of Obama, We can start a new thread in the political section. I did not bring it, You did.Last edited: Mar 12, 2017

Enough with the Politics, please. We have a section for that. Take it there.
Air Cooled and 207nomad Thank this. -
Nobody said it, I think he was making a generalization. I've spent most of my adult life in Western MT. Many people move here from CA. And then they try to make it like CA. Doesn't work like that. Lol
