apparently that was the case but they dropped those bonuses. at least that's what he said. he also said that the have the trainers take classes on how to encourage students to remain with the company.
the more i read here, the more all of this makes sense. seems like more truth is spoken here.
Am I making a mistake leaving Werner?

Another decent company up there is leonards. They have regional and they treat me right. After a while you can go local with them. They treat me pretty good.
But if i where you, get to rist and get tanker. I've heard nothing but great things about there home daily tanker work. (If i remember right its all milk related -
the tanker division is earl T. wadhams. i will start with rist, and i can transfer to ARG or earl T. wadhams after a year.
Mann0567 Thanks this. -

one more good laugh. we drove into an area of black ice, actually i was driving when the road surface got really slick. i kept plenty of following distance i actually brought the truck safely to a stop. scared the crap out of me though. the DOT had all of the trucks shut down for safety. we were told we had to chain up in order to move again. my trainer didnt know how to chain up, he had no clue. we had to sit there until the sander finally came through.

Smart move, leaving Werner. Weekends with the family is invaluable.
Not only that, if you can improve your working environment with a new company, you'll have job satisfaction. With job satisfaction you can enjoy your family time at home without the dread and stress of going back to work after the weekend with a company that isn't a good fit.Last edited: Mar 14, 2017

I could not stand it...so I looked for a quick exit....and never looked back.
Dont stress about that "wanna-be-trucker-site" LOLToomanybikes and ad356 Thank this. -
perhaps since wadham's is a smaller carrier that does indeed have trainers and a training program, they not a widely known "training" company. it is my hope that they offer a much high caliber of training program and that i can actually learn something from them. they have 4 trainers and are all highly experienced drivers. i had an actual face to face interview with the guy in charge of the rist division. he actually hinted on all of the things mentioned here, that the trainers are with the large training companies arent really all that experienced themselves. he didnt go into detail about the government grant because he cant bash werner. as much as he might not like them, its unethical to bash a competetor. he agreed that the trainers at werner are training only for the sake of collecting more miles. they dont operate their training program like that. trainers get paid a flat training wage and they dont collect students miles. allowing trainers to collect students miles just encourages abuse of the students by the trainers.
maybe i will get a real trainer now, that will really help me learn the right way. im looking forward to their training program. i think it might be much better. -
Some clown on there giving career advice drives around in a Swift day cab. If someone even mentions a company other than Swift or Knight or Schneider; they get a stern lecture and banned from the site.
Here's the email they get:
"Sorry, but you've been banned for being abusive. Leave now and never come back."Thull, nax and Boattlebot Thank this. -
