Have a dilemma for you guys. Should I leave my Linehaul gig for Mclane foodservice side? Getting my run cut and possible hours cut a lil when these elogs come in June or July. So I'm going from mid to high 80's to high 70's a year. Home everyday to layover. I've worked at US Foods 5 years ago for a year. I'm a gym rat actually 20lbs lighter then I was when I did foodservice. My current job no pay raises til 2019 when YRC contract is up. So pay isn't gonna change for awhile might even dip more cause of elogs. I make money on chaining in the winter won't be able to claim it do to elogs. I'm sure I'll get the job offer Monday unless I didn't pass the strength test or background. I'm 39 don't know how beat up my body joints are. Let me know what you might do? Thanks.

BTW going to another LTL is hard cause I have two tickets in my car in the same month. Both due to fall off in Oct. didn't bother Mclane when I applied.. plus I'm not a job hopper..

Good that you said in shape. Got some pounds on me personally but getting up and down this yard truck all day long for 12 hours and fighting with rusty container doors has still kept me nimble. Interesting to hear about the tickets and McLane. I guess they're not too worried about background or they haven't run if yet. Personally I'd pay em ASAP.

    Radman Thanks this.

How much they paying you an hour for training? And something just occurred to me, but what about the 30 minute break? Does that affect scheduling?

Hell no don't do it! Granted I was the most fit I ever was in my life at 155lbs and 6pack abs when I did routes. Im a shuttle driver now and I weigh 167lbs. I have been going to the gym now but to be honest while Im not as lean as I used to be I put on a lot of muscle again (used to lift a lot).

Its one thing going to the gym an 1 or 2 everyday but its hard work slinging cases up and down a ramp 14 to 16 hrs a day

    Radman Thanks this.

I'm at Mclane food servoce and I would tell you stay where u are or go to a tanker or another ltl. This job will break your body down. Been in food for 5 years now 37 and need to get out as well. It's seriously a young mans game too much politics as well. They will work you to death if you are decent at your job

    duckdiver and Radman Thank this.
