Zata. My wife went OTR with me for one year. She wanted to see what my daily life was like. We had a pretty good time but when she got out of the truck she was done with it. This was in 2013 and she hasn't sat in the right seat since. If she wants to go I highly recommend it. My wife did all of the Quallcom and admin type stuff. Made my life much easier.

    Xeres63 and Zata40 Thank this.

I'd move to Fargo in a heartbeat but my wife and daughter would never have it. Wouldn't be fair to my daughter because of the stuff she has going on. She would never be able to do what she's is doing now there. It's big enough that it has everything but in 15 minutes you can be any where in town.

I'll also have her drive. I'll just sit around and talk smack on the cb all day!

    Where do I start?

So I made my delivery in St. Paul this morning and instead of going straight to CR to get my APU serviced, I bounced out to Willmar to grab a load to Seattle. I had planned on stopping in Fargo to get the APU fixed on the way. I arrive in Willmar and I am informed that my load has been rescheduled for the 20th. I then receive the consolation prize of a load to Aberdeen, MD which means I need to fight my way back through rush hour traffic to Newport and drop my trailer before going to CR for the APU work only to find that Jerry never put me on the work list to begin with.
To recap, I've essentially wasted an entire day with no appreciable forward progress and I've lost out on 400+ paid miles...could be worse I suppose, but for the life of me can't quite figure out how.

Zata, when we moved 2009 from Germany to Canada, my wife went with me OTR. She never was in a truck before and she tried it. It worked for 4.5 years, a long time to spend together in a truck. It was a great experience for her, she was with me in all lower 48 States and all provinces of Canada (excluding Labrador).
In March 2014 she decided to stay at home, I can't blame her.
We had great times together, but also went thru a lot of ####, it's easier for a man than a woman to live OTR (Lack of restrooms and showers).
If it's not working for you and your wife, don't force her to stay with you in the truck, then look for another job.

    Zata40 Thanks this.

When me and my wife got married the plan was her to go with me and it lasted a whole 3 months of her being in the truck. She got bored out of her mind.
And my daughter went me last summer and she lasted 2 weeks. My wife had to meet us in Ohio she missed her mother now 9 months later she went on the road for 7 days and missed Boone. Mom and dad who are they?

    Zata40 Thanks this.

Can't go on home time without something going wrong! One of my drive tires was low and wore down really bad. Has to be replaced. I swear it was just from driving this morning from Minneapolis to Milwaukee. It passed a kick test. I guess i need to be more careful about visually inspecting and using the guage.
