I cannot find a thing in San Diego. Admittedly I've only looked on truckers path. I need to unload this Tuesday 8am near navy base. Im coming down I-5 from Oregon. I have well over an extra day. Should I stay out of San Diego until the unload time? Wanted to do a 34 on the beach and relax, looks like that's probably a pipe dream.

Get there early and fine a good stop to park. And don't leave the truck unattended for a long time. I read some where about a few issues but I can't recall which truckstop in that area it was. Remember, your close to the border, lots of my comprades in that area.

There's a little bit of street parking on the west side of the pilot across from the entrance. it'll fill up too.

    about a blocks worth..

It was probably the Pilot in Otay Mesa. It is a very high risk area. An unattended truck will likely not be there for long.

a couple more words.. I don't worry about the bandits and gringos, haven't a problem there to date however, I'm not in the area on a daily basis.

If you have some time another option might be to check out the area on google street view and maps. maybe there's some street parking near a c-store. the beach area is pretty well spoken for, cars, RV's and the like get top priority.

there is a section along the 5 in walking distance from the cost with some parking without any amenities, I've thought about parking there myself for a few hours but I don't know if it's legal.
