"Freedom of speech" refers only to a freedom from government censorship of communication. It has absolutely nothing to do with posting on a internet forum.

Essentially telling people that a forum thread should be shut down because it's not something he agrees with sorry but that's utterly absurd garbage

I don't necessarily disagree with you, I just get testy with the use of the term "freedom of speech."

Not to mention that these lease operators have to pay thousands of dollars in taxes every year!! Some people forget to save their money and end up not paying their taxes.

To be fair company drivers also pay taxes, but .90cpm is dirt cheap.

If somebody wishes to be a lifelong company driver that is their business and I don't diss them. So why should company driving advocates diss an L/P guy? You've got your comfy bed now be happy with that and leave l/P's to theirs.

So the "wisdom" goes, "Drive company and save your money!" Really? At $0.44 a mile for 3000 miles that's a check of $1320. Sounds good. Take out a low end of 15% for taxes and now it's $1122. Ok, so save the equivalent of my lease payment of ~$570 and now the company guy is at $552 a week.

Not so good any more. At a more realistic 25% rate that liveable check is now about $420ish federal reserve notes! That's living at poverty level.

Now if you don't ever wish to go a more independent route then yes, you will most likely make more than my piss-ant $0.90cpm rate...albeit for only a few years.

Always remember, even company drivers are paying for the equipment, tractor, trailer , DM's and mechanics and terminal property. No matter what you are are driving or how you are driving it, company or lease or owner op the driver is paying the entire overhead of the trucking business.

i dont drive 3000 miles a week just 370 a day.i get paid loading unloading waiting etc and gross 1187$ for 5 days a week 10 hours a day
i volunteer to work saturdays sometimes
i would be foolish to lease a truck sight unseen and run reefer for 90 cpm its just odd to call that good business
