Here's your problem ... First decide you want go in business. Second, build your business model. Third find the company that best fits your model and you. Then you can go find he truck that will work best.

Actually, we looked at many trucks and situations before DB. You're telling me that the final truck you buy has nothing to do with emotion? And the "problem" is that a company made false claims. Whether or not we made a mistake doesn't discount the information I am making known to anyone looking into the DB/QC program.
The whole point of my post was to inform others in a way no one was able to when we started. Incidentally, the issue isn't whether we can make money with the truck, our business model worked. It's whether knowing what we know now; do we want to continue to pay into a scam.
This isn't asking if someone can monday morning quarterback our situation , it's about exposing a bad program to help someone else avoid getting caught in it.

I 100% agree with you @MisstressJess, I was one of those drivers who was seduced by the beautiful "LOOKING" trucks that DB was putting out. But luckily I have some guardian angels that kept me from going through with the DB/QC program. Some of them happen to be other drivers that actually had DB trucks. I reached out to about 8-9 different drivers in the program to hear it from the horses mouth myself. I had 6 of them get back to me and offer their experience and advice. They all seemed to have started off well in the beginning, but eventually one by one almost everyone of them returned the truck. Now the reasons may have varied between what terminal they were at, to how many problems they were having with those DB trucks that were gone through so thoroughly......LOL. I understand the want to drive something that you can be proud of, I love a pretty PETE as much as anyone. I just could not rationalize spending no less than $150,000+ on a truck that may have been worth $75-80,000 max. Starting out a business where you are "twice as deep in the hole" before you even get off the ground is absolutely absurd in my opinion. So I just wanted to say thank you, and let others know that there has to be other avenues to getting your dream truck, that doesn't have you married to "two wives(DB/QC)" who will take you for everything they can. You're going to need a hell of a "pre-nup"!!!

P.S. of the 6 drivers who I got info from about DB's program, only 1 of them still is in the program. He happens to have a dedicated account........all of them good hard workers, so you tell me why that is

Look I'm no angel and I am far from perfect; but I knew all of that before I signed and went to work. Why didn't you? CJ does not and will not hide the contract from you or ask you to sign blank pages. That ones on you, yes you.

$1000's in the first couple of months is bad. I probably had that much too, but I stayed in communication with Dave Brown and he paid for everything. Right down to a completely new AC system - literally everything replaced.

Communication is key and finding positive people to be around.

Again I'm not perfect, but I see a lot of self accountability in what you wrote. Most of that wouldn't of happened or been a surprise if you were patient, communicated, and read your contracts first. This is a big deal it's not like signing a contract for a cell phone. Read it.

The need to get out of a contract is for no other reason than to be a Kangaroo. Stay out and finish what you started. No more hopping.

Now snap out of the funk - look yourselves in the mirror - and promise yourselves an awesome tomorrow. Today you prep for that tomorrow. I'm here if you need me. I'm in Joliet 750 with the only 386 DB Kustoms built.

Oops I didn't read your last paragraph - sorry about that. I got caught up in the blame game you're laying out. You had my attention though, that long comment went quick.

Your last paragraph; I socialize with 11 DB guys quite a bit. I'm the Jr to 8 of them, and I have 1.5 years in; which means they've been here longer than me. Of the other 2 - 1 just hit his year mark and the other is new.

I'll never have first person knowledge, but I also understand everyone of us has a different path to walk.
Good luck to the drivers who are making it work, not a road that I need to travel though!!! P.S. Even you said yourself, that your buying a used truck 3 times higher than retail......so am I the only one that see's a problem there?!?

I commend you for reading a whole 1 page before this one.

I also said, here let me quote myself:
"You know, I did pay 3 times retail; but I have a custom truck and one heck of a support team."

I have also been on this thread since January of 2016 - that's a long time and a lot of posts. I see you didn't quote anything from more than 1 whole page ago. Too much work I get it.

People have been popping up, on here, for the their one liners - the last year and half. Most butt hurt because they couldn't get approved financially or approved by QC. One of those reasons is they job hop too much, can't make a commitment. And once they realize they can't pull the whole crowd into their negativity, they disappear.

I have the right to vent on this thread, because I took it over from firespock, and it's my adventures - good and bad. By the way @firespock is still with QC and a lease to purchase also. I consider him a really good friend. The difference in my venting is it is not negative hear say, but importantly I am self accountable.

I will be here a year from now and most days in between. Self accountability, self worth, and self prosperity. Gotta live it not talk about.

I appreciate this thread, and all input from you and every other person who post. I was approved with both DB/QC, which is how I found this thread. As part of my due diligence, I reached out to DB/QC drivers for first hand knowledge. My post was only my conclusion after analyzing all the info I had. Best of luck to you, and all future drivers who sign that dotted line.......Shiney Pete's rule the road!!! LOL
