So far i like Schneider and swift best just because of the options but i have heard Schneider is tough and strict where as swift is a little more lenient

You'll go through a 3 day orientation. Then out with a trainer for 200 hours behind the wheel.

Not that Swift is lenient, so much they treat as an adult because they expect you to act like one.

    Drpparker95,
I attended SWIFT 10 years back..If memory serves me, we did have folks that came into Phoenix by bus, we had blokes from California & Nevada that drove in as well.
Just firm that all up with your recruiter though. He or she will gladly list the options available.
SWIFT is a mighty good training program , my instructors were all top shelf truckers / individuals.
It was tough , well regimented, the best day of my life when I cleared all testing without a major demerit to gain that CDL.
    Good luck & safe travels.

200 hrs behind the wheel training. The first 50 hrs, trainer is in the passenger seat. Unless training pay changed from 2 yrs ago.. its your states minimum wage plus 1 dollar while you drive. Just minimum wage while on duty not driving. @Lepton1 use to be a trainer for swift. Maybe he will chime in and give more details

    Lepton1 and G13Tomcat Thank this.

Just some info on swift. They start you any where from .36 to .38 cents per mile once solo and about 9 an hour for training. They will provide a bus ticket to cdl school/orientation. I have heard that they will install an inverter in your truck at certain terminals. I had one installed but I'm a lease operator so I had to pay for my inverter and install. Like dptrucker said it's 200 behind the wheel hours to finish training with the first 50 hours of supervised driving. It's not to bad if you get a decent trainer. They do allow 12 volt fridges so no worries on that. If you have anymore questions you can ask me if you want. I'm a mentor at Swift and can answer most questions about training.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
