unfortunately my 730 is gone for good. so that is not an option
well i have the old files in .xls and csv versions, so if someone can come up with how to convert them back to the right .db format for the 740 then i can simple blend them with the 740 info and upload ALL the info.
I also found out that you can not simply DL the week, month or quarter info for mileage or fuel like you did on the 730. they haven' come up with a way to do this yet. so ill put this to Mark> any ideas how we do this? i was using the weekly reports to track certain info.

Your Computer - turn on hidden files and folders.
C:/users/your user ID/Appdata/local/RNDDock/Cache/Your device (should only be one there)/AutoBackups/user/ - you will see Navi and RM.
Click on Navi/backup (it will be date stamped)/all the files in this folder go in the .navi/User folder.
Click on RM/backup (it will be date stamped)/all the .db's in this folder go in the .navi/rm/user folder. Do not copy the folders in the User folder.
Thanks,
Mark -
THANK YOU !!!!!
Worked perfectly
Now why in the world couldn't support just tell me that?? I even asked them about the backup files. I spent almost 2 hrs trying to find a darn program to convert either csv or xls to db and no luck. your solution, 5 mins and done.
the only issue i'm having now, which is VERY minor. is i have both the laptop and the 740 on the same WiFi but i cant see the 740. i had to plug it in to do the transfer. I thought everything with this one was supposed to be WiFi now? anyway like i said, MINOR.
Thank You Again, Life Saver -
Again, the Dock will not transfer your files back to the 740 since it is Android based. This is a manual move.
Thanks,
Mark -
Please bear with me as I am getting caught up on the posts. My daughter had the Croup and I got it... Last week was recovery. If you don't know what it is, it is worse than the flu in an adult. I still have a cough.
So I am not ignoring anyone, I am trying to get caught up on 2.5 weeks of being out of it.
Thanks,
MarkSuspect Zero and tow614 Thank this. -

Sorry to her your daughter has the croup, as a father of 4 i do know, and its not fun.
Support told me that i was supposed to transfer files via WiFi not the cable, so apparently they are not up to speed.
the simple solution, at least for some of us that know computers well enough, would be to simple provide me with a DB reader for the files. then i could simple copy paste, import what not and open the DB file.
unfortunately Access won't do it. we would need the right program to read the db file.
a more complicated solution would be to put out a new "DOCK" type program that would connect to the 740 and let you export the files like the old one did.
any idea on time frame for a solution?
I'm taking off - will be testing out the new 740 for the next for days. seems like there is a little bit of a learning curve with this one over the 730. few things in different spots, different setup. -
Driving eastbound MD 32 to Odenton MD, I was literally just told to take the exit from MD 32 to MD 108, then get right back on MD 32.grr.
txtodd Thanks this. -
OK I have a question that is now driving me nuts - On the 740 it is , how do i explain this, chimming? every so often. whether i am sitting of moving. for the life of me i can not figure out what the chime is for.
its not an alert of any kind, since it happens when sitting also. WiFI? Update? what the heck and how do i stop it?????
