My thoughts on slander a company that has slander your name across the board, trying to stop other companies from hiring you like Road Runner Transportation at this point I could not give a hoot. This is most truckers lively hood and for one man or one woman to try and destroy what we work hard for because they have invalid issues is not my business.

There are state laws against what is called blacklisting. NOLO on the net has most of them if not all of them For example, one of my previous companies know how to tell anyone I apply to that I am on a BL, but are very careful not to put it into writing. (Legal under their state law, verbally but not in writing) so when I write to the employer I applied to and was denied for all the records used in their decision on my application, there will be nothing in writing saying that I am BL. However the company I applied to will verbally tell me that I am bl from a particular company and want the story from me. That is how I find out and follow up on it.

I am using this as a example. The Industry has many ways to prevent a driver from progressing if previous employers know how to handle whatever happened just so. The drivers also know how to work around problems like that. I have. As for me, this is a intellectual debate using one of my experiences as a example. Im over this BL issue. However when you run for a company you do your best and sometimes when something goes really wrong for everyone involved it's best to go on down the road and cut losses.

One poster talked about relying on drivers to understand what is broken and what is not. That is one way to do it. It is far better for this Company person to actually go out and get a CDL and be equally licensed to drive the company equiptment from time to time as a way to hold shippers and recievers responsible. It is no problem for a company officer to hop into a tractor trailer and go to a specific shipper and or reciever to follow up undercover on a reported problem. If the company officer is treated with the same problem then that person is in a very good position with evidence to consider cutting the shipper or reciever from getting any more trucks to load. If it is not a problem then it's possible the driver is on something else.

If you are a trucking company staff or officer etc and not have a CDL license... then what good are you? Sometimes drivers might find out that you are a VP of safety in a company for example, but if you do not hold the CDL and do the same things the driver can do, you might not be accorded the necessary respect. Do you understand? I can either deal with a empty suit assigned to a company position or if the suit also holds the CDL etc then it's much easier to deal with same without friction.

There are many things to consider and most of the time it's best not to have any problems. But life and trucking is not like that.

What a laugh, you drivers never do anything to better yourselves anyway. No organization and these companies love that. Trust me this board is not a threat.
