We are publicly traded, but your assessment is not correct, but you don't seem to be open to honest dialogue. That's okay. Good luck to you.

My post (deleted) was only intended in fun. But, I can see now where it may have been hurtful to the poster. I sometimes let my sarcastic humor cloud my thinking.

Thanks, but I don't believe in luck.

This is a garbage thread fishing for Heartland, and the paid hired hand.
Please tell us hired hand,How much trucking have you done?
You seem to have a rebuttal for all the negative replys for a company that's
    always looking for drivers.
The good companies aren't here defending the past, but you some how are.
I have spent yrs talking to Heartland drivers, and they were not happy.
Be honest, your a car salesman at best.
Do you have set hrs,? Home nightly? Weekends?

Hi @OPUS 7, thanks for reaching out. Glad you asked. My name is Rob and I'm not here to defend the past (or really anything, in fact). I'm here to provide insight into our company and answer questions as they arise. Responsiveness and openness in a digital space. Is that fair?

We're always looking for drivers because we run in all lower 48 states and our business continues to grow. Maybe our sales team is too good? :)

    Good call. Stick with that.
Fair point. Family-owned companies are a cornerstone of our country. As you probably know, that's how we got started in 1978 with Russ Gerdin and 4 trucks. As we've grown, like most companies desire to do, we've been fortunate to gain support from outside the company. Sometimes, fairly or unfairly, there can be a stigma around publicly-traded companies (it's human nature to believe there's an ominous, outside influence).

I'm not logged in this morning to debate business tactics, but I'll leave you with this: Mike Gerdin, our Chairman and CEO, leads our company. Russ' daughter, Julie, is a leader in our company. John Cosaert is a co-founder of our company and leads us as CFO today. In all the meetings that I've ever been a part of, the short-term outlook of the "next quarter" hasn't ever come up. We're not working every day to serve shareholders. We're working every day to serve customers, drivers, and operations personnel.

Those that elect to invest in our company are investing in the success we've had in doing that over the last 39 years.

There was a time when TTR would not have allowed you on here in order to recruit drivers.

If you are really wanting to change your companies image then simply change your behavior and allow time to do it's work.

Talk will not overcome the reputation Heartland has earned over the years.

It will take years to overcome it.

We've shared some good dialogue with the TTR folks and we're not here to recruit drivers, actually. We're here to answer questions and be open and responsive about our company. I'd be willing to bet that you'd like to see that type of behavior from other companies as well... be they trucking companies or otherwise.

Actually , nobody was asking and nobody cares what companies try to spin about themselves.

We have all the resources we need from other drivers and should we require your input we can call your recruiting department.
