Sysco, Us foods, maybe a local food service company. Most of the Ltl companies, although with those you most likely will get on a late afternoon shift. With food service you would be starting between 2-5am for the most part.
What can I do now?

Thank you all for the information. I don't like the idea of getting into a day cab for some reason. But I will. I'm just worrying about getting paid for now. At least until their mother gets out. Then I may go back OTR or something.

G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
If YOU ask one of the mods, in case they don't show up soon, to merge the threads, bet it will work.
Keep us posted man; best of luck. Sorry about the wife. #####. -
Try looking into Foodservice or LTL. They tend to hire new students as well as inexperienced drivers (not saying your inexperienced, but having only 6 months experience will limit your ability to find a local job). As well as what @Cardfan89 mentioned about beverage delivery.
McLane Foodservice has they're own training academy, and other Foodservice Companies might start you off as a helper before moving up.
A lot of LTL Companies will train you from the docks to become a Driver or Spotter. Fed Ex Freight and Estes to name a few. ODFL seems to hire new students as well. So does ABF and YRC. UPS Freight you can either work as a Full-time Dockworker or a Dockworker/w CDL Combo Driver. Both almost pay the same and they top out around $28-29 an hour after four years. Fed Ex Express will train you as well.
Good luck.Last edited: May 31, 2017

Temp services that use cdl drivers is ideal for your situation. I used one and could pick and choose loads from various companies. Was home every day until the situation changed, then went long hauling again.
