Hey....I did bobtail from Pensacola to Starke FL when AL wouldn't issue me a permit

That is like pulling a van

I was offered a too smal load west but for real marginal money, trying to decide what to do - need to decide by monday.

Nothing worth acrap available at the moment

This keep busy local stuff is not good for my body not to mention the humidity

Welcome to my part of the world! Savannah was rough Thursday. I imagine starke was worse. You can ride over to the redneck riviera. Good times had by all!

Why wouldn't AL issue you a permit?

I originally asked for 203k gross with two groups at 22k per axle

They rejected the route that they had suggested prior to ordering the permit - I had called earlier to ask about what routes might be issued.

The guy hauling the other M88 ordered his permit for the same route but at 193k on one less axle. His permit was issued in less than hour.

My permit went for bridge review.

Meanwhile, I headed west towards Pensacola. When FL weighed me, I was able to get actual weights.

After waiting until 4:30 pm, AL rejected the permit app and said I could only enter the state on I-20 West from GA.

I had the permit app amended with my actual weights and sent a copy of the issued permit for greater axle weights on fewer axles to get the requested route.

AL then rejected the app and said they would suspend my permit privileges if I sent the app or a new app for any route but I-20 west from GA.

They were just being A holes for no reason. So the guy hauling the other machine with the permit had to come back and take the trailer I was pulling and deliver the machine. Cost me money and time and aggravation for what what amounted to an interstate route that had axles weight of 19k or less.

Would it have worked with your old truck? Higher gross but lower per axle?
That's all that changed, went from a 4 axle to a 3 axle truck?

Oxbow, Razororange and noluck Thank this.

It wouldn't have made any difference- the permit writer got his nose out of joint because I asked for weight over 200k and then revised down by nearly 10k
