I'm currently working a northeast regional job, my first trucking job and have only been solo for 2 weeks now. How do you guys deal with the extreme lack of reliable parking spots up and down the i95 corridor and surrounding areas? I find myself reserving and paying most nights unless I'm shutting down real early. Plus we are not allowed to park on off/on ramps. This is by far the most stressful thing for me out there.

My favorite trick is to locate a industrail area with say reefer trucks. If I am a reefer truck with a cali load in Jersey, I'll pretend to be just another schlub waiting for a dock. And get into the row and go to sleep.

.... You park at the Walmart next town over from me: better do your shopping and ####ting quick so you see which wrecker company is dragging your horse n wagon out of the parking lot. That's very common round here.
You want. A place to park: what kinda places you deliver to? Ie Flatbeds deliver to Home Depot stores- store employees will think you have a morning appt. box wagons deliver to big box stores; ram it in on the side behind them. "My appointment is for tomorrow!"brian991219, Coover, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Why can't you sleep on on ramps?
The last place I'd want to be is at a rest area like the Vince Limbardi. Last time I stayed there, I woke up and went to the bathroom only to piss to the sound of guys banging in the stall and other "guys" soliciting for it. No thanks.

There are certain walmarts that do have a little bit of truck room as a courtesy. Cabot Walmart comes to mind. It's in the far back western end. Way in the back by the docks.
I have a feeling you can build 100,000 parking spots in all the States of the USA a massive concrete tower of babel filled with 18 wheelers and store 5 million trucks per night or day in total.
We will find a way to fill all that up...Coover Thanks this. -
Yes, probably not a good idea to make it a habit to park at a Walmart. Never know which ones will tow or ticket. I got a parking ticket for parking in one overnight and my truck says Walmart on the door! Go figure
