Going to be loading in Cincinnati and delivery in Lima, OH. This is a contract load for a few weeks, I said I'd do it at least through the weekend. If it turns out to be ez mode I'll volunteer for the duration. Rate is very good if it doesn't take up too much time loading/unloading should be a real moneymaker. I *may* earn a down payment for a new truck out of this.

Shreveport, snot load. Another driver had 'dental issues ' and couldn't pick it up. I was in Greenwood, right down the road, watching movies in my skivvies since I thought I had 2 days off why my trailer had VIK and P testing done to it in Kilgore. There's a speedco there so I thought I'd get a service done. Right when I was getting around to it, tgey asked if I could cover the run. Said yes and drove back to Kilgore to grab an mt and drove back to. Shreveport .
Boss is in Texas hitting truck stops trying to recruit drivers. We need 20 confirmed and a few months running at that number before the higher ups will allow a new terminal to be built in Longview. I've been telling them for 8 months that they won't find the drivers they want for what they pay (and don't pay) They don't understand that texas isnt Utah. Utah has a limited tanker pool. Texas has probably 5 tanker jobs for every available driver.
If you don't pay more than the other guy, you aren't going to find people. If other companies pay drivers for tankwashes, then they need to. If other guyes are paying more for loading and unload, then you need to take that into consideration.
We had a very productive talk over dinner and he seemed really receptive and I had good hopes for the future.
Them today I meet a driver who left us a few months ago and he reiterated what he told them they needed to do before he decided to quit and it echoes my opinions almost exactly. *sigh* I tried. Maybe after a few months of them still hunting for drivers, we'll try again.austinmike, 19d, Bud A. and 1 other person Thank this.
