As with every job, there are days where my job sucks. But I can say with complete honesty that I am very happy here. I have not one single bad thing to say about this company.

I've had two conversations with two amazing people today. Both with folks that have worked their way through school and the trainer truck experience. You know who you are. Thank you both. You make my day when you call. Glad you guys are doing well, call me anytime you need me.

I just got dispatched, and my load is going to Mogadore, Ohio. 15 minutes from home. If I can spin that into a night at home, I'm gonna be a happy camper :D

Here's something I'll probably never say again. I'm in London, KY and NOT happy about it at all. I had a truck stop in Ohio targeted for tonight. But, there was an accident on 75 that completely screwed me. Props to Google Maps for once again hooking me up BIG TIME. I knew about it 20 miles before my GPS decided to warn me. The highway wasn't shut down but it might as well have been. According to my phone, it was a 90 minute delay. My phone gave me an alternate route, which I tried unsuccessfully to plug into the GPS. It didn't want anything to do with that road. Usually, it's for a good reason. So for the first time ever, I broke out my atlas to see if it was a restricted road, or if there were any low bridges. There weren't, so I took the detour. And then I soon figured out the reason why my GPS was being a pain. There were 2 bridges posted as 13'6". I have my GPS profile set up for 13'7". Hence the reason it wouldn't use that road. I'm changing my profile as we speak, because that isn't gonna happen again. The actual clearance on those bridges was a few inches higher, my truck easily cleared them although it was admittedly tight. I knew I'd be fine because there were trucks coming from the opposite direction. Even though I avoided the parking lot on 75, I still lost some precious time, and I was no longer comfortable with the prospect of parking when I got to my target. I could have made it further north, for sure. But let's be honest, most of the truck stops north of here in Kentucky just plain suck. And I don't want any part of Cincinnati rush hour. So, here I sit. Also not real happy that I'll have to pay for a shower, but it is what it is. At least the showers are decent here. This will affect tomorrow too, because most of my hours are going to be burned just getting to the final. In a way it's both bad and good. It's bad because I'm getting less miles. It's good, in a very small way, because it is now more likely that Opie will be cool with me going home. Most of my day will be burned anyhow. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Well guys, that's it for me, I'm signing off. Gonna grab my usual reuben next door and hit the sack. Not a great day, but not a bad one. Gotta love trucking, it keeps you on your toes. Peace y'all. Talk to you tomorrow. Keep the rubber side down, and be safe out there.
