That's false too. It 2 weeks after 2 years and 3 weeks after 5 years.. plus you was gonna be home every day out of Des Monies doing LTL, Sherman William drivers ain't sniffing what I'm making and I'm home pretty much every night...
Granted you probably ain't touching 100 pcs of furniture a day but still the point remains...

This company got it's faults and I'll be the first to admit it and "*****" about it, but I can't let y'all pass out false info for y'all own liking...

Funny how the ones #####ing the most about it and how bad it is don't even work here lol or couldn't cut it here and quit.

You have to play their system to your advantage. If you've been here more than 6 months on ptp and pay attention to how things are planned you can get 2 nights home and 44-48 more than 50% of the time if you know what you're doing. Living close to the yard helps as well and not being so far out that the commute becomes an issue. Sometimes it is what it is but there are ways to manipulate it. As one of the Tampa guys who used to post on the other thread used to say 'manage them before they can manage you'. There's a lot of truth there. If you don't do that and blindly allow them to manage you and don't work the system then you're just a sheep being herded.

It's not for everyone that's for sure. They have their issues that's for sure as well. For those of us who can and do work the system to our advantage it's not a bad deal.

It was not home everyday. In fact it was out to Denver most weeks I was told.

Anybody ever heard of a drop lot LTL driver not being home close to every day and doing 700 mile trips??? Naw me neither....

Not to mention they have a drop lot in Denver, the only way you was going to Denver if you were going to help out for a week....

Me too, and same...glad they did!

When I was trying to get in I did not know about being home for a measly 34 hours.

Like I said earlier, that's barely enough time to do laundry and grocery shop. No way a driver is going to get quality family time under those conditions.

    It still stands:
    1. Your trucks are nearly 10 mph slower than 10 years ago, right with the rest of the bottom feeders.

    2. Pay is not that great for working nearly a solid 6 days every week.

    3. Instead of the stress of "working the system to your advantage" how about a job that treats you decent in the first place?

    4. Living close to the yard? There is nothing "close" to Arcadia. The illegal immigrants in all of their factories hog any and all housing in Arcadia, the closest towns Winona, La Crosse and Eau Claire are all 1/2 hour or more away.

    1) I can't argue with that at all lol but it hasn't hurt my money any. I'm still making more than most of you.

    2) since I don't do a full 6 days in the truck that doesn't apply. My pay is both well above average for 90% of drivers and for my part of the country. We live very well and my wife doesn't work.

    3) Learning the ins and outs and the big picture why of how things operate and using that to your advantage isn't 'stressful' and I do it very easily. It's called being a professional and being good at your job. What the #### do you people want? Everything handed to you? Nobody is going to hold your hand here. You're largely in charge of your own success or failure here and how you manage yourself and your time is a big part of that and how they base their planning, and in turn, your hometime. Anyone who feels they've been taken advantage of or treated unfairly here or isn't running or making any money or not getting the hometime they want has allowed it to happen. I don't.

    4) as we've said all along, the experience here is very location specific. We have a much better time of things down south the the folks up north do

This isn't a common carrier and you can't apply those parameters and expectations to it or you'll be sorely disappointed.

That's the beauty of this industry. If you don't like it or it doesn't work for you in some way, there are hundreds of thousands of other places you can go or you can buy your own truck.

What works for me doesn't work for you. So ####ing what? As long as we're both happy with our respective situations who gives a ####. Personally I can't stay in a truck 3-4 weeks a time. I wouldn't even consider a job like that.

We can bash them if we want. We're here. It's hilarious how many of you who don't have a clue other than your own assumptions and opinions that want to tell us how bad it is.
