I honestly will fuel no matter what gauge says as I have run out of fuel one time and the dang thing took 30 mins to prime up before I got it started so I never let them go under 1/2 tank now.

Sometimes on that that's not the driver's fault. When I picked up a load at Florida's natural the guard was concerned about one of our reefers because it had been loaded early and no one has come to pick it up yet and it was down to under a quarter of a tank.
-
When I arrived the load wasn't ready yet so I deduced they hadn't partially loaded it then parked it for 3 days then finished it, but maybe? Who knows.

I'm sure everyone is very familiar with the US Border Patrol check point on I-10 at mm 102 in Texas.
163 signs flashing, instructing all trucks to keep right and exit to the check point.
All trucks except Swift apparently. He just proceeds on thru the car lane. I guess USBO didn't like that so they pulled him to the side.
And people wonder why Swift has the reputation they have. Their drivers just keep doing stupid crap.drvrtech77, dhkwanderer, MachoCyclone and 3 others Thank this. -

I've heard it all now. Went inside for a shower and food. Next thing I know this other driver starts randomly talking to me. He tells me how he is in the National Guard and they sent him for truck driver training with the Federal Marshalls and then to DOT school to train as an inspector. And because of that he has a badge number on his license (no actual badge) and when he goes into a scale and run the number the officers call him sir and ask if he is going to inspect them today and just let him go on his way.
The best part was that he has 3 college degrees, but he has been a Specialist for 11 years and has to drive from Missouri to Utah every month for drill and he talking to someone else about getting some kind of waiver to bypass OCS and 2 ranks to become a Captain in the regular Army.
It took everything I had to not laugh in his face. I just got up and went back to my truck.popcorn169, drvrtech77, 88 Alpha and 3 others Thank this. -
