    Ok,

So I thought DOT urine test could not be observed unless there was some reasonable suspicion such as first sample being off temperature so they observe a second test.

    But that's not what happened.

Today I get a job offer; a very good paying local job and like any other job I'm told I just need to go drug test. So no problem, I know I'm clean.

But I get there fill out paperwork all standard stuff and when I'm called back there the collector tells me my test will be observed.

Whoa what!! I protested telling him it's a DOT test and they can't be observed unless reasonable suspicion not right off the bat, but he insist there have been changes in the law. And he must observe me or mark it as a refusal.

I was none too pleased as I don't wish to be treated like a criminal but I was worried I'd not only not get the job but they could possibly report me to the State of Texas and I could lose my CDL.

So reluctantly I went along with it.

The collector made it clear it was no fun for him either and to his credit he stood well behind me as I pissed in the cup, when I was in the military they'd observe drug test and they'd look right at your junk, but this guy clearly wasn't interested in a close up look, but next time a collector may well insist on looking right at it.

    So my question is....

    Has anyone else encountered this.

Again I'm clean so no judgements towards me are necessary.

Has anyone any knowledge of a change in DOT urine testing that allows for direct observation right off the bat with no reasonable suspicion.

This experience has me wanting out of this profession.

    Enough is enough already.

Do not feel bad. Last time I was observed it was by a woman and she giggled when I pulled it out. I felt deeply hurt. I am thinking of suing. I have been emotionally scared!

On my last two dot physicals the doctor was a female. When they told me to lower my garment for a hernia check. One burst out laughing for at least 20 mins. (it seemed like an eternity.) Then the other told me she had no idea I was humanly possible for a man to have junk that small

No worries about pulling out my hammer. If it's a requirement it's a requirement.

I was on a tugboat for a year and I heard horror stories about the coast guard coming on board and watching you load your product in a cup and if it was dirty your hind parts was put in handcuffs and taken to the nearest brig.

I think it's the future it's going to be a normal thing soon but I don't have any hard evidence to support that.
