    It wasn't concentra or quest.

It was a tiny independent place I'd never heard of.

I don't want to name it but if you don't live in the Houston area you'll never have to deal with the place.

I'd soak their lab coat sleeve right up to the shoulder seam. I usually down a quart of water before a drug screen, and once I start I can't stop 'til I'm DONE!!!!

So if ya wanna watch, you better stand behind me, Perfesser, or get yourself some Tyvek coveralls and a face shield......

And I agree your experience was weird, OP, and I am unaware of any recent changes to the regs. But I have to agree it's best to pee first and fight it later. A refusal to test is not something you want on your record.

I read through that. Very informative.

None of it lines up with my experience today.

This whole experience has me scratching my head.

The good news is I gave my 2 week notice and they told me to bring my stuff in tomorrow they don't want me to stay 2 weeks and I had a feeling they wouldn't as they don't want me to take other drivers with me when I go.

So I'm starting my new job day after tomorrow.

The UA wasn't much fun. But the extra money I'll be making will be quite nice.

I know when I used to get the duty as a manager, while it was not for DOT, the policy was, if you signed you witnessed it, and it came back as synthetic, the bacteria count was not as it should have been, you would be terminated, and the person testing would be terminated. We did not use to watch, just handed them the cup and let them walk back out with it. For some reason there was a spike in bad collections, meaning the urine did not belong to the donor, so they cracked down. No one likes to stand there and watch it leave the hose, I can't think of anyone ever wanting the duty, we all tried to get out of it.
I doubt he suspected anything, probably just policy and he is covering his backside.

Never in the industry, but always in the military. It's odd at first to have someone stare at your junk, but then I just started messing with them asking if they wanted to hold it, or whiz all over the cup itself while filling it and hand it back to them, or right before it was your turn to go I'd strip down to my birthday suit and start yelling "I'm ready!" After a while they would just call my name and then wouldn't get within 50ft of me because they didn't know what to expect. Surprisingly I never got a psych eval because of this. Us Airborne Infantry guys are a "unique bunch" to say the least.

All drug tests are observed. Those mirrors in the bathroom aren't just there for you to pick your nose, they are two way mirrors and the nurses on the other side can verify your unit is squirting out the pee instead of some bag of urine strapped to your leg with a battery pack to keep it warm.
