What ever man. I would not do business with Mercer. Mercer had to know.

For example, in October 2011, Nelson hauled a 53-foot trailer from the Georgia base to three delivery sites in California and one in Nevada.

But it appeared from the government’s internal records as if he had made four separate trips instead of a single cross-country route with multiple stops, resulting in a fee of $26,562 instead of $7,084, according to the complaint.

So the case was made and the individuals from Mercer were convicted.

What about the other side? Were and of the recipients of these bribes also convicted?

And the paperwork was done in such a way a to look like 3 separate loads. How can you expect a lady that works in truck pay to know it wasnt legit. Especially when many legit loads pay that well. Heck I know of loads that pay over 35k dollars.

    drvrtech77 and A21CAV Thank this.

The expense report paying for the trip is pretty damning.

The dods expense report? Carriers don't see those. Carriers submit an invoice along with copies of the bill of lading.

Almost all companies in every industry do things like that for their customers. That is nothing new to the business world. If I owned a company & one of my customers increased the amount of business they did with me I would do something for them. It's no more illegal or unethical than taking a client to lunch.

If you or your company is giving trips to government employees (which is illegal) it's not an oversight.
