Most of the newer trucks already have lojack or gps locators and some trailers.

So do cell phones, laptops, along with other electronic devices, ao arent you already being monitored?

It will get much worse too come 2019.
Every scale will know who is driving before you get down the ramp.
FMCSA will have access to every move you make including speeding, hard brakes and everything else the driver does....So many pages of the new regs that got slid under the radar in 2012...

Kentucky is already using in motion inspection software. It knows the driver through the federal facial recognition database...
I watched a news video on this from the KY scales on 75...cameras can even detect brakes out of adjustment, exhaust leaks and all kinds of stuff before they even pull you on the platform.
This is set to go nationwide by 2019 and all states linked together...Along with the Feds.

That's no thing to worry about, every driver I talk to has top notch equipment and never cheats on their hours, but they hate having to get elogs

The real issue here is we are being regulated by people who cannot start a truck much less drive one.
Even the CEO's of these big companies that lobbied for this can't drive a truck.
This is an unfunded mandate and in that should be gone!

Its not really about the ata. sure they have embraced elogs, but that's only to appease the lobbyists with huge voting power behind them. In Washington DC the ata is a small fringe player compared to the highway safety groups backed by the AAA and AARP.

I can believe that. Like with most things, one need only to follow the money.

Truth is none of us know. We all just have our own little theories. My personal theory is it has less to do with money and more to do with politicians wanting to keep their jobs. which i guess indirectly does mean its about money. And power.
