Like I mentioned before, I know Veterans who are truck drivers that have a service animal because of PTSD. But, according to your logic they are a bunch of snowflakes.

No need to denigrate yourself because you have a perfectly valid point. I am an OO. Yes I am leased to a company and I like these folks very much BUT I am the boss and they know it. There isn't a single thing that they do that I cannot do for myself. And have in the past. I have my own MC and USDOT numbers still active. They know all this and would no more try to force dispatch me as to tell me to go to the moon.
Sometimes a lease company will try to guilt you into taking a load or strongarm you. In my case they fail every time because I help them understand that they are suffering from a delusion i.e. that they are the boss.
When setting up an authority the wording is misleading. It gives one the impression that you are in some way setting yourself up to employ other people.
    WRONG!!
What you are doing in reality is setting yourself up to offer services for sale.
A guy spends an enormous amount of money buying a truck and trailer. He then looks around for a way to put his equipment to work to make money.
    He has several options.
He decides to lease on somewhere. So he looks around for somebody selling a particular set of business services that suit him. Then he purchases.
He can do exactly the same thing by raising his own authority and farming out - usually for less money - IFTA, factoring, load finding etc.
    Just a personal choice.
Any illusion that the trucking company is somehow in charge is just that an ILLUSION.
None of what I have said is a license to be an ahole to the company. However they will try it on just as night follows day.

Yes they are what you are describing is called a pet. Not a service animal. Simply a pet. Perfectly good idea, people have been having pets forever. They are company and comforting nothing wrong with any of that but they are pets.
A guide dog is trained to help a blind person. Definitely a service dog also a pet.

    PTSD
A real thing no doubt but wildly overused. I knew a guy who was in the navy and his ship received a single shell from a Vietnamese artillery position. Nowhere near him. Now he has PTSD. The fact that he was one of the biggest pikers I have ever met has nothing to do with this, he had PTSD.
    How do I know?
    He told me --- repeatedly.
Anyone who really has this terrible nerve shattering condition has my utter sympathy. It ruins people.
However I ain't buying it this time.

So a diabetic service dog that is trained to sense when it's owner is about to have a diabetic episode isn't a valid service animal?

You are kidding right? I have known and know many people with both kinds of diabetes. None of them have dogs who are 'trained' to sense a diabetic fit. So yes anybody who claims that is a service animal is having you on.
I take ibuprofene as a anti inflammatory for my arthritus. Can I have a 'service dog' please?

Well you're ignorance is showing, my mother has a German Shepard that she paid to have trained from 6 months old, she's insulin dependant and the dog is trained to get her supplies when she's having a high or low, I've seen it myself several times.

I think you need to open your mind rather than #### all over individuals just because you don't agree with them

While I agree that there are people who claim they have PTSD, but for the ones have actually been diagnosed with PTSD can get a service animal. The dog is trained specifically for interaction with someone with PTSD and can do much more than just a pet.

    PTSD Service Animal
