Remember when southwest airlines had dirt cheap prices. They were hedging the price of fuel with contracts. How do we know megas don t do the same thing? -
Jeck Thanks this.

RStewart Thanks this.

There is no way megas are buying fuel for $1.00 per gallon right now, no way.
-
the megas buy fuel on a cost plus basis. They get fuel for about a nickel over what the truckstop pays for it. Truckstops don't even get it for $1 a gallon.

That being said I did research and found a carrier who values drivers, values partners, owner operators and fleet owners for what they are and have also had sucess. It is a small to medium sized carrier and the person helping me dispatch has a ton of experience and good relations with brokers. At this stage I am just having him send me wherever he thinks we can do the best. This is allowIng me to get used to the road,(a week at a time) and learn how he works things. -
You all should ask the leasors what they're paying. I don't see em anymore so I have no idea these days.
England leasors truck numbers start with 9. Ask JCT also. They ALL leasors. -
The negotiated discount rate is usually around .50 to .60 off of the posted retail ppg.izifaddag Thanks this. -
