Well I will tell you I can see more money for what I do in a van. The hopper is good consistant money when you have a good customer. Then the flat I get some good loads here and there. Fairly concistant. Then the van i see more money per mile than anything. But it could be 5 days a week, or 1 day a week, or one load a week. But van over the road hauling toilet paper no. There is steel, machinery, equipment that goings up and down the road too. Find a local factory and cover there expidite. 9pm at night you can name your price. Just a thought.

I am selling my reefer I hate that #### thing. A massive amount of responsibility for no extra money. Well not that true. I made more money with it but it was a liability waiting to happen.-

To be a bit clearer I hated the reefer world. Every part of it. Lumpers, middle of the night, grocery warehouses, unnecessarily rude people. Then there is anything up to 15 hours in a dock. Oh yes I am not kidding. Overnight in a dock and they want to give you a hard time about getting there on time. I will never do reefers again. Selling my reefer to the guy I'm leased to right now. Wish I had never tied up so much money in that junk heap.

I'm going to have to get a reefer soon. I don't think I would consider it without having remote monitoring. Otherwise, I feel like it would be really stressful. I got reefer breakdown insurance but still I'm not trying to file a claim.

For now I'm stuck with the toilet paper deal up and down the road but I am glad I came to the forum today. I was feeling down and lost as to how I could make things work but now I have a little hope. Thanks for all your input.

I met a guy in New York who was completely geared up for it including his own electric pallet jack. All his load bars neatly hanging on a purpose built rack inside the trailer etc. Not for me though. Again if one could get a regular client direct it could work.

Ill make you feel better. 2013 my wife at 29 almost died due to a blood clot. Missed months of work. 2014 was a great year, in 2015 I lost a engine with a payment on the truck. Did a complete overhaul got back to work. 2015 thru 2016 they overhauled it 3 times under warrenty. This hurt. Then it went down again, this time they put a factory reman in. 2016-2017 finally right and back working consistantly, July 2017 my dad was in a M/C crash while we were on a trip. 1 month in ICU. Then passed. We were not in bussiness together but worked together. Now after this finally get back to work. Then carrier asked me to drop my customers and only pay attention to his. This was the last moment working together. Filled for authority missed harvest season, and started playing catch up for 12 months. It has sucked, its been hard. But 12 months on my own authority and guess what Im still here, and here comes harvest. We are not made by are successes, we are who we are because of are failures.
