Message me with any questions. We are looking for more drivers, so as long as you have a decent background check, you should be good to go. I'll get you linked up with our terminal manager and give you the nickel tour. -
Today you almost have to check three generations worth of anything to find out if there is something that will stop someone from hiring on. The job aint changed itself. Its the culture, industry and Nation that changed around it.
Some of you will be delighted to hear that at my age I don't know anything anymore and forgot the rest. He he he.Mortarmaggot Thanks this. -
Thanks for the quick reply! I don't really have any questions about pay, there is enough information from other driver testimonials out there. I guess my only question is what is home time like? I heard 10-12 days out, 2-3 home, however, sometimes you can get routed home during your 10-12 driving days, but no guarantees.
My background check will be just fine since I am retiring with a Top Secret clearance with the military. No criminal or drug issues for me.
If you're serious about speaking with the terminal manager, i'll take you up on that. I'm already in touch with the recruiter Mary. However, I stopped communicating until I finish my CDL followed by HAZMAT & Tanker endorsement (I already have TWIC & Passport).
My email is brown2fr@gmail.com. If you send anything to it, we can exchange phone numbers if you like.
thanks again for the info!Mortarmaggot and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Home time is flexible. Sometimes I do a long run, and other times short, depending on needs. 9 to 12 out with 3 to 4 off is fairly normal.
I'm on a two day out and back after having last weekend off. If they have a one day out and back Wednesday, I'll do that. If not, I'll go home for a couple of days and then do a 9 or 10 day system run starting Saturday.
The key is to communicate. Being retired military, you understand how that works. If you come in Friday night, call dispatch on Monday and let them know when you want to go back out. Once you go out, or even before, let them know when you want to be home. It really is that easy. -

Mary is good people. Recruiting is her additional duty. She'll have you fill out the application, but coordinating everything once your application is submitted falls on Jack. He has to send everything thru corporate for approval.
Ensure you choose the Wilmington terminal for your application or Jack won't see it.
My advice is to be patient with the process. I'll email you my cell should you need it. I'll get you with, Jeff, too. He will be your biggest asset once you get out on the road. He will also be your first trainer.
If you put me down as a referral, I get a grand. Lol -
