I love how when everybody is saying Schneider sucks and @rickybobby steps in posts a pay statement he gets put on blast and this thread blows up.
"one statement doesn't mean anything"
"he cropped the statement, it doesn't show everything".
"he didn't remind everybody he has a paid truck"
blah blah blah
Then when Landstar is brought up someone steps in and mentions one load they did that paid well and.... nothing.
Well allow me...
Posting about one load means nothing.
Plus it could have had 10 stops or had a whole week of time on it.
Or you could have been sitting for days refusing to haul cheap freight until that one good paying load popped up.
Anything is possible.
At the end of the day it's still 65% of a lot double brokered loads and a bunch of fees. Anybody can use the search function and find endless posts from drivers there talking about those very facts.
% really doesn't mean anything anyway though, it's all an illusion in most cases.
Nothing like a customer telling you "I wish Schneider would cut our rate on this load like they have on you drivers hauling it"QuietStorm, Opus, drvrtech77 and 5 others Thank this. -
There is cheap freight at Landstar, no question about it. There is good freight there also. I am seeing better rates than when I was at Schneider, and not so many heavy loads. Not that there aren't times when it seems that is all I'm seeing. The one I mentioned is not something I see all the time, far from it. It is one pick, one drop and pretty light. The thing is, at least now I have a chance to haul loads like that. I wouldn't at Schneider (not likely anyway) because the rates they show the IC's are skinned down pretty bad. I don't have loads "cancel" just to be put on a company truck either, and not having to compete with so much company equipment is better for me.
I am not one to begrudge a guy who is doing well at Schneider. I have a good friend who is still there and he is doing ok. It just wasn't working for me a s well as it did years ago, and I have to leave there eventually anyway, so I made the jump. For my part, I should have done it earlier. I really liked the people I spoke to on a regular basis. They were really nice to me and I still talk to them once in a while. I didn't care so much for what came down from higher up though.
In the end, to each their own. We all have different likes and needs. I wish everyone well who is still there but I am happier where I am now.TennMan, scythe08, freightwipper and 2 others Thank this. -
