You know who doesn't care about the elds/hos? The shippers and receievers, I repeat, it's the shippers and receivers.

In a nutshell, your dispatcher is a middleman between you and the customer. Most of the time, a dispatcher can't reschedule because of a hard-headed customer.

So these shippers and receivers will also need to change their game or face litigation.

Took my 10 at the TA in Elkton, MD Thursday night, 10 at the house last night, and delivered Ravenswood before noon as I was suppose to do today. Easy to do even on paper. :)

Crikeys, I just talked to the dumbest "independent contractor" ever
He didn't want to be called an owner operator.
But he books and hauls his own freight. A one truck operation.
Says he's been in Kansas City for two days (came from Baltimore) and he's making 700 bucks a day detention and he hates it.
He lost a $4,700 load to Colorado because they won't unload a countertop from his dry van.

Says he won't need elogs as he's the only truck and you have to have 15 YES FIFTEEN trucks to have elogs.
Says that's because they need him to haul the tight freight company drivers can't haul.
He's never heard of 3282 either.
And he has a newer truck, not a glider either.
That dumb truck driver will be caught off guard come December.

And the original proposal had an exemption for small carriers. Less than five trucks or something like that.

None of the anti eloggers posted this,,,,,,

Thanks to our grassroots efforts, a Congressional vote to delay the ELD mandate is happening as soon as TODAY! Babin Amendment #35 to HR 3354, the "Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act," has been Made in Order by the House Rules Committee and will receive action on the U.S. House Floor. The amendment cuts off funding to implement, administer, or enforce the ELD mandate until September 30, 2018. The measure is separate from HR 3282, "The Electronic Logging Device Extension Act," but provides another legislative opportunity to delay the mandate. The amendment could be voted on as soon as this evening so don't delay!

Every vote will be critical in stopping this unnecessary, costly, and burdensome regulation. Please contact your Representative and tell them to support Babin Amendment #35. Let your lawmakers know that:

    • The ELD mandate is a one-size-fits-all approach to an industry that is anything but one-size-fits-all.
    • Small-business truckers will bear the majority of the $2 billion in ELD costs without realizing any safety, economic, or productivity benefits.
    • FMCSA has failed to address a variety of issues associated with the mandate.
Your U.S. Representative needs to hear from you! You can find contact information for your lawmakers by clicking HERE and typing in your ZIP code.

You can also call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202)-224-3121. An operator will connect you directly with your Representative.

CALL OR EMAIL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and ask them to support Babin Amendment #35 to HR 3354. Defeating the ELD mandate is OOIDA's top priority and we will continue to fight it until the very end. Thank you for your time, effort, and support of OOIDA.
