    What apu's are you talking about? I've never seen one on a May truck. Not even our 2018 Freightliners have apu's. Someone is telling you a story.

    May trucks do not have APUs. They have bunk heaters for the winter and you idle in the summer months. They like you to stay at 45% idle or lower but, contrary to what you will read in here on occasion, they do not charge you for idling unless you're just being stupid with it. Use common sense and you won't have issues. Or, if you do, you need to elevate it to the terminal manager (or higher). I've never been charged, or even asked about idling.

    There are definitely some things I'd do different if I were the Big Cheese at May, but they're not a bad outfit overall.

    I'm a trainer at May so if you have questions, fire away. And, yes, I'll give you the good bad and ugly.

    @Frank Speak
    Has May Trucking set up direct deposit for their truck drivers and other employees to automatically have their paychecks deposited into a checking or savings account?

    If not, are they planning on doing so in the near future? In addition to convenience, it also the SAFEST way to receive one's money for both themselves and their families.

    A driver with a spouse and children back home needs to know that the spouse will have access to money come payday to pay off necessary bills and expenses.

    It is NOT the safest practice for a driver to have to pull cash off of a comdata card at an ATM machine, regardless what time of day it is.
    Also, it could be quite a feat for the driver to have the money converted to a money order and sent home through the mail, money orders and mailboxes are NOT always readily available.

    Good luck to you and your family! God bless you and your family!

    God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

    No, they haven't and I don't think they're planning to do it anytime soon. I agree with you that they should. I think it's dumb how they have it set up. That said, there's a roundabout way to do direct deposit.

    You can transfer money once a week for free with EFS so I just call (actually, my wife calls) every Friday and have the money transferred to my bank account. It shows up there by Monday I think. My wife would know for sure. Anyway, it doesn't cost me anything in fees to do it and I get my money every Monday or Tuesday (whatever day it is). Basically, I just look at it like I get paid on Monday.

    born&raisedintheusa Thanks this.

    I live in Ga. The closest terminal is in Lebanon, TN which is 5 hrs away. Will they let me take my truck home and park at truck stop?

    Yes but, as I stated in other thread, you'll take a trailer with you. You won't bobtail home.

    One mpre question. My recruiter is trying to get me to come to orientation. However my background checck hasnt come back. I disclosed all of my background including a nine year old fwlony and petty misdemeanors. She insists that it will be accepted amd i will be hired. So my question is does May accept felons

    I don't know if they do or not regarding a felony. I would imagine it would depend on what it was for.

    As long as you have been completely honest and she says to come on, then you should be fine. Just keep in mind, you'll be sent home if your background check doesn't match what you've told them.
