Hi Mark I could use your help, i went to update my Randy mcnally 730 and when finished it said complete. it had a blue screen on it so I shut it off turned it on and it went away went to diagnose and repair thinking ok something didn't go thru right. went thru that it said fixed amd repaired files so i unplugged it and started it and it opened to maps out of date. so i went to the app re registered downloaded update to maps said complete unplugged it and I thought was good to go when I turn it on it says system files missing connect to dock and it has popup on app corrupted device so it wont connect to it in diagnose and repair like its not there and i cant find anywhere how to just reset it to factory and restore all the factory files and just go from scratch again. The pc does recognize it as a external drive where you can explore see what's there etc but the dock has no clue I don't mind losing addresses etc I just want it to work again. I can't find it again but read a post yesterday bout you could log into another drivers pc and replace the files and get it working again would you be able to do the same for me ? I'm home all weekend but go back out again 3 am monday my model/whats on back number is 730-048686-el-15w12 v 1.4 I can't start a conversation because I've only posted once

Those having freezing on the x40, I got some logs from a few of you. Give me a day or two to look and try to duplicate.
Update. I see an error code on the x40 and x80 logs. I am in touch with the developer in regards to this error.

Mark. Last December I bought a 530. Had it less than a week and registered it at home over Christmas. Went back to work and it had no GPS. Tried for 2 days. Because it was only a week old, Rand sent me a new replacement, In May this one quit and had no GPS. Rand asked me to send it in for repair,which I did. They repaired it and sent it back to me. It ended up being sent all over creation and eventually was lost. After almost 2 months they sent me another new one. Last week this one lost GPS for the better part of a day. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? I have a 510 that I've had for 4 years with no problems. Thanks for your efforts and time.

I bought a tnd 530, and I'm here to tell this forum that they are garbage, gps stopped working and the day night switch over did not work, received a replacement and now the same problem. Customer service said that they would look at this and fix or replace, to be honest, I'm not going to go for a third time, going to try another brand, Rand McNally should be ashamed of themselves for putting this garbage on the market, think about this, 221 pages on a part two forum????? That would not exist with a quality company with quality products.

In fact I can take any product and Google it and find other support sites for any product that are also several years old. So, don't take the 2nd part 221 pages in such a harsh light. Ask others on this thread how many times I have been here on weekends and nights assisting them.
Now, the brightness issue if you have posted here before calling RM CS, I could have told you it is a "bug" and has been fixed. It will be resolved on the next version issue.
The GPS issue seems to be only a select few, so I am thinking it was a bad run of an internal product. Call CS and let them know. They will look at it and test it. RM is trying to narrow this issue down.
