Heretic! How dare you propose that people have to start at the bottom and WORK up from there.
You are absolutely correct. This is a direct product of an over exaggerated sense of entitlement and demand for instant gratification.

Jerry, or other Swift bosses, not responding is a perfect example of how Swift couldn't care less about the drivers. No reaction is the best reaction they have. I'd rather hear nothing back from Swift than the typical lip service" oh yeh thanks for telling me. You should tell that to someone else. "

what about for swift local? this swift recruiter in my area won't leave me alone. he has been begging for about a moth trying to get me to follow through with the orientation for their local job. i'm just too sceptical about swift to trust them, that's been holding me back. and there is plenty of other companies wanting to hire me also. i could go back working for my previous company which was local work also. it's just hard to decide. should i avoid swift still even though the amount per hour they are offering matches my other company?

I just sent a planner a direct message with my Qualcomm asking to drop a load at a terminal because it didn't deliver for two days... Literally 7 minutes later it was set with a message saying "done"... Don't know what the ops problem is, maybe attitude? Also my t680 pulls like an ox, downshifts better than I can after 20 years of driving, and has Jake's that will almost put you through the window... And it's a good looking truck. They put virgin rubber on it as well. When we need a spot in LA, no looking... Just go to a terminal... They are also running my ### off bottom pay .47 a mile, top. 61. Hadnt chained in years because I was a local driver stopped in at the Lewiston terminal at the school and ask them to give me a refresher. I learn things from that trainer that I have never learned when I did it before and it was all good information done very professionally I think the OP just wasn't interested or patient enough to put any effort in

20 years of driving and got schooled by a 'Swift trainer.' Sounds like a slow learning curve.

I'm from southern Oregon, I have hauled chips mostly and flatbed, , live seafood down 101 from southern Oregon to the bay area 3 times a week. For a few years. Not much snow where I ran, only did a very little when I moved to northern Oregon in the last few years. I'm middle age now and wanted a refresh, I've never had a passenger before and now I have my wife... I figured it never hurts to learn some thing new and he showed me in about a half an hour at few things my original school and others never told me, detailed and knowledgable. I've also never driven an auto 10 speed before, mostly stick. Bash all you want, but I felt it was good info and it cost me nothing. I avoid snow if possible and always have, because I only did it the first year in was out (98) and not much of it... Mostly my experience is high wind (Oregon coast) and a lot of ice. My experience here hasnt been all good, but patience usually wins out here... It's a corporate mega and there are a lot of good people inside that machine. Bash all you want... I've worked for small companies and I usually get the short end of the stick... "Run illegal they'll never catch you" but we don't know anything if you are caught. Thanks anyways these trucks eat enough of my life without paying tickets because an employer doesn't want to meet requirements and wants to sit back and collect the money while I take risks for him.

Hopefully they aren’t given to the classic J.B. Hunt bait and switch.
