Not the minimum wage people. Some of them have seen their pay go up by 50%+ in the last year. Inflation is currently in the 2% range. They definitely make more money than they used to, and this is a good thing. I'd prefer that no jobs existed where you could work the job and qualify for welfare. That's how people get stuck on government assistance, by having a job where they make so little money that they still qualify. The disgusting thing about that is that we are all basically subsidizing their employers cheap work force rather than actually helping poor people be less poor.

If minimum wage goes to $15/hr most minimum wage jobs will simply disappear. We will place our orders at McDonalds and Burger King on a touch screen and self checkout at most stores. The people who are pushing for $15/hr minimum wage are the same ones who think everyone should go to college and the same ones who can't figure out which bathroom to use. I personally blame "participation trophies" they prevent people from figuring out that winning requires effort and sacrifice and give kids a sense of entitlement.

    More on the subject:
I never got a baseball trophy, mostly because I sucked at baseball even though I loved it. But because I knew I sucked at baseball I moved on to other things, some of which I found I could excel at with some effort. I had my choice of schools for both football and academics, I wonder if I had kept swinging and missing those little white balls and getting rewarded for doing something poorly would I be taking orders at McDonalds today and crying about a "liveable wage". Probably!

If you want to help poor people learn to stand on their own feet don't let them use the crutches forever!
Cut them off. No other species coddles their lazy and stupid so the can breed more lazy and stupid people.

Costco pays $13.50 for unskilled new hires, $17 average for their workers. Walmart and McDonald's is making a killing paying below poverty wages. They let the government support their workers with food stamps and housing, while they open new businesses like crazy in the USA and other countries. Corporations run our country and profit big time, while workers and our country live in debt. Companies are holding a $2.6 trillion pile of cash overseas that's still growing

I beg to differ... A professional driver is a skilled position. Conversely most of the mega seat filling steering wheel holders with a pulse are unskilled labor. There is a difference

These people should be careful what they wish for but unfortunately a lot of them are working minimum wage jobs because they're not the sharpest knives in the drawer. If companies are forced to pay $15 minimum wage, they'll just switch to automation in some cases, cut hours down to where they don't have to cover benefits, reduce labor force and essentially have 1 person doing the work of 2. It sounds great to them getting a big raise, but they don't see the big picture....that in the long run they're screwing themselves

Looked at your profile page to see what state that might be. I'm on the mobile site and couldn't find it.
    Socialist Republic of California?
